I was talkng with JStorm and he knows a girl who works as a teacher in Maryland. Apparently, they are out of school for Yom Kippur and other Jewish holidays. Is that the case where you live?

are you and JStorm an item? I ask this because your other thread that was posted also started with "I was talking with JStorm..."

No, we are best friends.

Jewish holidays never affected my schools while growing up. Then again, I live on the opposite side of the state from Hollywood, so there aren't many Jewish people in my town.

I see, well no they don't affect me either...although my sister's friend does live in one of those areas, and we used to get jealous!

Jewish programs didn't used to be an issue or affect schools where I live but a new law passed that affects people who work for the city or state and many places like the courthouse and DMV are closed now. Not so for schools though.

Not so much. My area has always been mostly black and hispanic, with all the white people being pretty wasp-y. Now downtown Chicago on the other hand....

I wasn't aware that there were schools that didn't get off for them. I guess Septembers sucked for you guys then.

I go to the biggest high school under one roof in the nation so we get nearly every religious holiday off.
