Lets talk about it, how did he measure up to the actors who played the other villains in the batman movies? Did he make an impact.?

This thread probably belongs in the Misc Batman Films section, not the DC Comics section.

He was a slightly less evil Joker, with a little of the 60's riddler thrown in.

Carrey gave this movie most of its best moments.

I think Schumacher's movies has some of the worst casting choices in history. Yes, he was entertaining, but I didnt get the feeling that hes a very intelligent and clever game master. Instead I felt like he's an extremely flamboyant homosexual on speed

I enjoyed it for what it was worth. I didn't like Two Face playing second fiddle to him. But it all fit with the campy tone that they wanted.

He was basically Jim Carrey being..well, Jim Carrey. Nothing wrong with that i guess, but he just wasn't The Riddler for me.

You're rioght, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Jim Carrey doing what he does the best. Now if he wears green tights with question marks riding a massive ego and he is evil and tries to gets to Bruce Wayne and Batman, then he is the Riddler.

i hated him in this
he wrecked the whole movie for me

tommy lee jones was amazing and would have been even better if not for jim hamming up every scene he was in...
he was not playing the riddler, he was playing frank gorshin playing the riddler

and that is lame

awww comeon!
the guy is great

he's harvey for a second, then he's 2face, then he's harvey again, then he kills you

his swings between the 2 were awesome
and with out jim carey, he would have been a little bit more sinister
jim carey is everybit as much to blame as the director for what happened

they just turned him loose, and he made the movie way way over the top
val would've done a good batman (he tried to be serious)
even robin would've been acceptable is not for jims effect on the film

but the best of all out of the cast was jones
and he would've been even better if carey were replace by williams (whom it certainly should have been)

then again, that's just me
but yeah, i hated jim

Well we kinda got what is expected from Carrey : wacky, over-the-top, camp, etc. He's good at what he does and it suited the Schumacher films.

Would Carrey have worked as Riddler in a Nolan film? Not a hope.

just imagine that movie with out him

and consider that batman and robin would never have happened

I enjoyed Carrey as Riddler. Damn entertaining and one of the few "ok" parts of this movie.

You found a hyper active Two Face who kept tossing his coin until he got the answer he wanted amazing?

Who ever wrote that comic is as bad as the one who made Leslie Thompkins a murderer. Tossing the coin repeatedly totally defeats the purpose of him having a coin in the first place.

If he just keeps tossing it to get the answer he wants then he might as well just do what he wants to do without the coin. It makes the coin pointless.

I wouldnt necessarily agree. Partially yes, but in this instance we're talking about a guy whose completely nuts and has a dual personality. I see your point and you got one, dont get me wrong, but ocasional deviation from rules isnt anything shocking from psychopats imo

Oh btw, it was written by Doug Moench so thats a big name right there

Yes, but psychopaths like this always follow a strict set of rules as part of their psychosis.

The Riddler simply cannot pull off a crime without leaving a riddle. Scarecrow is entirely motivated by his obsession with fear. Two Face tosses his coin because he believes in fate and chance deciding his actions. 50/50. It will either happen or won't. "Best out of three" or just constantly tossing the coin goes against that altogether.

Doug Moench should know better.

And as I said, even if sane people dont follow their own rules, psychos dont either, or simply change them over time. TwoFace has always been shown as an angry and compulsive person. He usualy does follow the coin, but in the psychotic rage he wont so Im fine with it
