Is Jim Lee headed for the Justice League?
At his panel at the Canadian Fan Expo in Toronto on Friday night, Lee hinted at his next project following his current runs on All Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder and WildCats.
"I already have my next project lined up," said Lee, who recently signed a three-year exclusive with DC Comics. "I can't say what it is, but it's a lot of great characters. There's a hint."
Asked by an audience member if he will be drawing Justice League, Lee said, "It's possible. It's possible."
Asked for a yes or no answer, Lee said, "Maybe." Lee also indicated he would like to draw the Legion of Super-Heroes someday

I'm not the type of guy to buy something just because Jim Lee drew it.But depending on the writer he's working with, this could be good.

So...Ed Benes, then Jim Lee. Who next, Michael Turner:whatever:

jim lee is awesome. not saying he's the only awesome penciller in the biz, but the man has talent. i love his attention to detail.

JIM LEE rocks lets hope the story is up to his talent

Jim Lee is good, but he's highly overrated.

not really. and if you think he's overrated, the people who praise him to get to the point where others feel that he's overrated must really find him talented. seriously the guy is awesome and deserves every bit of praise, his attential to detail is really excuisite hell its the only thing thats keeping All star bats from flopping miserably.

I don't know, I could see Roy saying "I'm the goddamned Red Arrow."

His attention to detail is good, but an artist should be able to get a story across to an audience without dialogue balloons. Lee can't do that. All of his pages are like posters and splash pages: they look really pretty and detailed, but they don't give you any real hint of the story by themselves.

Considering it will take like 10 years for his run on All Star to finish, there should be a few artists between him and Benes.

The dude is drawing like 5 things at once, sorry him on a mainstream DCU book is just asking for delays.

Jim lee would be good for a high action arc.

But not much else, his level of skill his high but his artistry is only average. (IMO)

Jim Lee would be good for a smack in the nose.

im pretty sure thats you. but even without word balloons his art pretty much gives away whats going on in the page. i suggest you check out the all star batman and robin directors cut special edition. there are no word ballons along with his pencils and i had no problems at all depicting what was going on in those scenes. his ability to depect such things, is pretty keen.

From kick off I respect your right to an opinon and do like jim lee in small amounts.

But jim lee only has about 4 different facial expressions and one face depending on age or gender. He is capable of highly detailed machinery or costumes but his faces are only ever different in hair styles or colouring.

His anatomy though dynamic, is way off again with little to no variation between characters. (stylisation is nice but drawing every female with the same body isn't a style its a problem)

His body language is non existant, his characters don't move they strike poses (even in smaller panels).

jim lee is basically rob liefield with a concept of proportion and perspective
(or liefield is jim lee without a concept of proportion and perspective).

Couldn't have said it better myself.

The thing we have to remember here is Jim Lee's run on ASB&R won't be done for another 7, 8 years.

Exactly.I see Lee's stuff as all flash and no substance. His storytelling technique really lacks.

I think he is somewhat overrated.Attention to detail? Are you talking about the sharp cheekbones and pointless lines he draws across people's thighs?

Like people are saying, Lee's a good artist, not a good illustrator. If you want to buy a story, go somewhere else, if you want to buy a poster, he's your man. Except I wouldn't even buy a poster from him. Yeah that's right. I really don't like Lee very much. I don't hate him, but I certainly don't like him.

The best I can say about him is that I wouldn't drop a book just because he got put on the art.

Why get Lee when you have the chubby goodness of Frank Quitely.

I dont like Quitely. Seriously, I dont get the appeal.

Yeah, me neither. I get all that storytelling phooey, but you need a good style too. :\

Like when he was on New X-Men, I was supposed to believe Emma was the hottest ***** around? And his SUperman sometimes looks constipated.

And his clothes look all wrinkly.
