i understood Kingdom come the 1st time i read it

I've heard people say they had to re-read Watchmen to really get it.

Well I mean For Tom. is pretty easy to follow if you actually read it. I mean I would have to type for a bit to explain it but I mean just read it. Dont think to deep about it if your bored feel free but I mean just read it for what it is, a nice slightly challenging story. I mean honestly I thought the dialogue was some of the best in recent books. Another thing that For Tom. is good for is the fact that it proves that Superman can have sex with Lois and not rip her in half, contrary to popular belief that super strength means super sperm. I mean just read For Tom. in one sitting in a way it very much is a tale about he is feeling far to alienated from humanity and that without Lois his life is thrown out of balance and for a total and complete loop.

Some books more simply complex than others and do require multiple readings. Thats a massive generalisation you're making there without anything to back it up. If you intirinsically believe that books should be kept simple enough that they can be fully understood on the first pass thats fair enough but you're placing a massive restraint on the creative team.

HOWEVER

I don't recall saying I didn't understand for tomorrow I just picked up more of its subtletys which isn't the same thing and began to appreciated it more.
