JKKS085-Fan Art MANIPS

spider-dude: good stuff man Im a fan hard to find quality manippers

keith V: This is awesome! My favorite part is the Batman Begins symbol on the new chest. Looks much better than the movie. And your Iron Man is probably the best version I've ever seen.

egarza: nice bats

Wow. Thank you very much for the compliments. Means a lot coming from you guys.
Thanks again and again and again ...

BTW after reading some (constructive) criticism about the batsuit redesign I posted few days ago, I decided to work, not exactly on an another version, but on an alternate one. The first one will be the "tech" version, the second, the "fabric" version.

no worries man its great stuff - Id be quite interested in seeing you do a manip of a chracter yet to be on screen - i.e design a character from scratch

I've got a Captain America on the way and maybe a Thor if I can find some good references.

I'll probably have to thank jmc one of these days because he is the one who makes me want to work on the all "character design" stuff.

Long time no see :D
Here's a try on an Iron Man Mark 6 / Extremis armor.

Clean Version:

Battle Damaged Version:

To avoid some troubles here's an exhaustive list of the reference pics I've used to recreate those images:
- Helmet: Official Iron Man picture (the one replicating the Adi Granov's drawing when Iron Man hits the floor with his fist)
- Body, Arms, Hands: 3D Render from Iron Man The Video Game (left hand), Iron Man The Video Game Key Art (right hand), 3D render from the video game Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (chest, arms).
- Legs: 3D picture by Grant Warwick.
- Battle Damages: Official pictures of the 1:1 Sideshow Iron Man Battle Damaged Bust, pictures of the 1:6 Hot Toys Battle Damaged Iron Man Mark 3 and the last Iron Man picture shown in the official news thread.

All assembled and/or modified with Photoshop CS.

I will probably use on of them in an Iron Man or Avengers poster soon.

These are so awesome!

I think he has been an inspiration to most of us mannipers at some point or another

very nice, and technically good (hair is cut out very well)

I think however it would look more aesthetically pleasing if ironman and war machine swapped positions for various reasons - 1. the eye scans left to right and as ironman is the star makes more sense to see him first, 2. their body positions would better match up with johansson and rourke making it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye

Thanks for the comments ;)

IM on the left and WM on the right is the way I originally planned on designing the poster (because of that eye-scan reason :D). Unfortunately I couldn't make it work in terms of composition, mainly because of WM's machine gun. It just looked weird in the center of the poster, almost pointed on the person who's looking at it. I tried to change it's side but I never managed to make it look good enough. I even thought of totally erasing it before I decided to swap their positions.

could you not edit it to the other shoulder??? shouldnt be too hard

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, things just don't want to cooperate.
I had this project sitting on my desk since november 2010 and I never found out how to make it work has an efficient teaser poster. I litteraly tried hundreds of alternate versions but none of them ended up by being good enough.

So, this post puts an end to this doomed project but I will probably come back to The Dark Knight Rises really soon.
