John Carter : A Princess of Mars

But the first book of the Barsoom series is called A Princess of Mars.

Anyway, at one point the movie was supposed to be titled A Princess of Mars until they retitled it to John Carter of Mars and now , unfortunately, as John Carter.

So what's the sequel gonna be called? John Carter 2?
"A Princess of Mars" is the title of the first book though with the inclusion of Matai Shang it would seem they are including some of "Gods of Mars" in the film as well. Mark Strong who is playing Shang has said they have outlines for three films. I doubt just John Carter is going to stick without something tagged on behind it.

I do hope that the title is not finalized, they could do like the Indy series and call it John Carter & The Princess of Mars or something similar like that. With that said, it's just a title and not something to really get work up over but still, it was unnecessary to change and call it just John Carter.

I don't really think that the recently change title is going to be the final title. I think that Disney will come up with a new title later down the line.

Disney is afraid of the word Mars and the word Princess right now, so hey.

But the bottom line is that movie us about..mars unless they market it as Barsoon only.

And I doubt it'll be called 'John Carter of Barsoon' if studios are even afraid to use words like Gahoole in the title.

Well the stench of Mars needs Moms will have worn off by next year.
The book is 100 years old, that title will attract a lot of people who will remember these books from their youth, screwing with it is silly IMO.

You already are gonna have diehard "fans" *****ing that Dejah Thoris and other females won't be as scantily clad as described in the books due to Disney, this is just another thing that will freak them out.

Well, at the end of the day, we should all remember one thing.

It's a Taylor Kitsch movie. Therefore, it will probably suck no matter what they call it.

This is the same studio that changed Rapunzel's title to Tangled after The Princess and the Frog didn't go so well. They probably think they're right now to do it again.

I think people are taking this too seriously. John Carter of Mars to John Carter isnt that bad. You may not like it, I think "of Mars" is better, but it's not like they changed it drastically

if hes name would at least be more ''fantastic'' then i would accept it.
