I've always been intrigued by this movie but forgot about it because of its long production.

Looking forward to it again. Checked out some old early 1900 pictures of it and it got me excited for what could be awesome on the big screen.

...yeah, and to those ignorant of what John Carter is, what a surprise they'll get when they see footage of all those amazing double-limbed green creatures with tusks, as well as four-armed great white apes, and pink-skinned space-men in flying vessels!!

If the "average Joe" only knew that this property is what started the whole space-opera/science-fantasy trend; Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, Frank Herbert's "Dune", Forbidden Planet, Green Lantern, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Avatar. Heck, even Superman to a degree!

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic at me or at Hollywood but I honestly wouldn't put it past some suit to decide Carter needs a modern update into a Marine who served in Afghanistan or something.
