The trailer never looks or feels like it leaves Earth. Trying to play what I saw of as Mars is cheesy to me. As is the look of the hero.

Eh she looks tan, especially against the red paint on her. It's a minor complaint...

Although if that is the case, they crafted his outfit themselves. Which for me, is a bit worse. If that is all they could come up with, I am disappointed. His outfit really does remind me of Prince of Persia.

Yeah it looks like they are still on Earth. The mountains aren't the orange that are on Mars, and they didn't do anything to make the mountains look un Earth like in any way. Where's the orange sky that is on Mars?

Doesn't really look like Prince of Persia at all. The movie however, does look like the Prince of Persia film.

Also nice tan on the fella on the cover. John Carter in the film doesn't seem to know what the sun looks like.

yes because its that simple to make a lot of money at the BO. lets take a look at this summer. how many movies did good? and how much did Tron make? it underperformed in the US.

so this movie huge? lets whait and see.

I dont know what you're going at. What I said is just a prediction. It looks like to me a movie that will attract alot of people. And I knew Tron wouldnt be a big hit. The buzz of that movie was just confusing.

I read it last summer, and it was great.

But I wonder if the version I read was abridged or something, because I've heard that John Carter fights in a gladiator-style arena in the first book, but I can't remember that part...

i didnt want to use orange since every movie in the desert has the orange look. a movie needs to stand out. if i add the orange color it would look even more like Prince of Persia

POTC has made over a billion, transformers is soaring, Harry Potter is going to dominate. No major film this summer has bren a flop besides green lantern. This summer is not a great example though. The market was so saturated with a big film every week that its been hard for a film to stay on top. As for Tron I don't think many people knew what to think of it.

Well I assumed you were trying to go for a more accurate look, the colors of Mars. Well here's hoping that they will color grade the film to orange before the release date.

I like the look of the Martian in that shot, only because it's simplistic, yet looks like it's actually there within the physical space and not CG.

Considering this is under Disney and not Touchstone, it ain't gonna get that gritty. It'll reach POTC as far as that goes. If he chops off anyone's extra limbs, it'll be a quick cut and bloodless.

Oh gotcha. Well thor did good. I expect the same for Captain Ametica and Cowboys and Aliens. I think the film will do good with a smart marketing campaign and word of mouth. Of course there are other factors, but I see potential.
