This screened at Sundance last night and the positive reviews are coming in. This is such an awesome book and the adaptation should prove to be an absolute mind-melting experience!

If you are lucky enough to see this at one of the upcoming screenings please feel free to post a review once you get some clean underwear, take a shower, and find the chunks of your brain and skull fragments on the floor of the theater.

Also, if you have not read the book - do so immediately.

I can't wait. That was my favorite book I read last year. Literally the funniest novel I've ever read.

Is it just me or the title is the biggest spoiler EVER.

Not if you've read the book. If you think you know what's going to happen, you're wrong.

It delights me that it sounds like the prologue is more or less intact. Not so much because I'm one of those unreasonable fanboys who hates change and demands carbon copy fidelity to the source, but because it's awesome that something that hilariously demented is playing on a movie screen.

My only question about the movie is, did Molly make the cut? I love Molly. Greatest dog ever.

I would be pretty disappointed if Molly did not make the film - she was a constant presence and pretty key throughout. I am confident this movie will deliver either way. Looks like 1 hr and 48 min running time. Part of me wishes it would be longer, but I think they will cram so much intensity into the 1 48 that I will need a breather and a chance to regain my sanity once it ends.

From Quint's review at AICN:

"So begins a ride through their first exposure to this drug, which results in death, telepathic communication, a badass dog sidekick, a meat monster, an evil white gangsta kid, flying mustaches, phone calls from the past, present and future and inter-dimensional travel."

Joy.

I've started reading the book. It picks up really quickly and is quite funny in it's horror/black comedy approach. But I'm on chapter 4 right now and I can't continue. I just lost interest so fast. I don't know why but I have no desire to keep reading it.

Just finished the book and definitely looking forward to this being released.

New trailer.

Holy ****! How have I not heard about this movie yet!?!? It looks sooooo awesome! And Clancy Brown looks like he is gonna knock it outta the park!

The director of this definitely looks like one to watch

I also had high hopes since it was Don Coscarelli.

I saw it at AFI Fest and was disappointed. There were some good parts I thought were fun and clever. Some fun cameos and performances but overall I don't think it worked very well.

Not nearly as good as Bubba Ho Tep.

Its On Demand now, and it is awesome! Dave and John are perfectly cast.

Yea I was just gonna come in here and say I saw it OnDemand. I'm VERY tempted to pay the 9.99 cuz this looks so awesome

I so wish I had On-Demand right now! Is there a list somewhere of the locations it's going to be playing theatrically? I've done some searching, but I'm coming up nil. I would love to see this at a midnight screening with fans.

It's available on iTunes and Amazon's video rental service also.

I went ahead and rented it. It's pretty great. I'm eager to rewatch it on, ahem, some form of soy sauce.

I thought it was pretty great too. They really condensed the book, which was necessary, but there were a lot of things that I wish had made it into the movie.
