It's a shame the Hardy's two best performances to date (Bronson and The Take) are the ones probably the fewest people have seen, at least in the U.S. Still, he was epic as Bane; a standout in Lawless, Inception and Tinker Tailor; and both scary and heartbreaking in Warrior. Even if he never reaches "mega star" status (and I'm starting to wonder if anyone truly does anymore), he's one of the best and most sought after actors out there right now.

I'm wondering whether Gosling will stick to acting, however. He's stated numerous times that he wants to direct films in the future.

I hope he does stick with acting. He can direct movies too if he wants but I need to see him in front of a camera.

I believe Hardy doesn't get enough credit for his past works, in my opinion. The guy has shined in almost everything he's been in, even in ****, long before becoming a star in the UK.
