Johnny Quest: The Movie. Cast?

I don't know much of Efron at all really...know he did those high school cash cow movies for Disney and Hairspray but didn't watch them...watched some of 17 Again and it was mildly entertaining, even saw some of his SNL stuff...funny

what makes me laugh is the ones who say "I hatez Zac Efron grrr!!!111!!! but have watched all 3 HS Musical films and Hairspray

Are you saying one of them for Jonny Quest because if they go seperate they might actually be good actors but that whole twin thing is holding them back.

i really think it was premature of The Rock and director to talk about the project so early in the game. It looks like it's still in Development Hell.

To go along with the 80 other projects the Rock has in development hell as well.

Not at all, I'm fine with Efron as Jonny.

The Sprouse kids were good in Big Daddy.:o

If you want to continue the single demographic marketing of studios to Tweens go ahead and choose these actors, however, if you don't want Jonny Quest to become a factory of melodrama that sells toys, I suggest others.

My first child shall be named "Zac-Efron". Yes that will be his first name.

I'm a lil young to reall remember the original but when the one from the 90's started I feel in ove with Jonny Quest. I would love to see it brought to the big screen as well as a new animated series. I often thought that maybe one or the other could go into Jonny having grown up and come back to work with his family after a falling out with his dad and trying to put some distance between him and Jessie Bannon. Coming back to find his missing father and restablishing his relationships with Race and the crew. Just an idea. But sticking with the show who would you cast as The Quest group? oh and they have to use the theme from the real adventures of jonny quest, it was epic.

Jonny Quest : Lucas Till

Race Bannon: Timothy Olyphant

Jessie Bannon : Miranda Cosgrove

Now I know she is a disney actress but she is a good actress and she has gotta break away from disney at some point.

The screenplay that was circulating Hollywood a couple years ago was kinda good. Unsure what happened to it from there though.

The Live-Action "Jonny Quest" Film Lives

By Garth Franklin Saturday December 21st 2013 11:32AM
Filmmaker Peter Segal ("Get Smart," "Grudge Match") says that the long-gestating live action movie based on the classic 1960's Hanna-Barbera sci-fi adventure series" Jonny Quest" movie is still in the works.
Segal has been attached to the Warner Bros. Pictures project since 2008 and tells ComingSoon that he hopes it'll be the next film of his to go forward:
"I would love to make that my next movie. We just hired a writer to do another pass. We already have a very good script. Then we go through budgeting hell and trying to get it into shape."
"Quest" told the thrilling stories of a young boy who accompanied his scientist father on extraordinary escapades investigating scientific mysteries around the world.
Joining him was his adopted brother from Calcutta, his pet bulldog pup, and the government agent assigned to protect them. The original one-season series was revived in the 80's and 90's on the Cartoon Network.
Dan Mazeau ("Wrath of the Titans") penned an earlier draft of the film's script with both Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson rumored for the roles of Quest and Bannon respectively back in 2009. Richard Donner and Lauren Shuler Donner previously attempted to bring 'Quest' to the big screen in 1994.

I hope not either! Funny because I've been thinking about this for a while now. Picture this: George Clooney as Dr. Quest & The Rock as Race Bannon. Get actual children (who can act) as Johnny & Hadji. This could easily be a nine film epic series (think Harry Potter) with the first three being based on the 60's series, 4-6 being the 80's, and 7-9 being the 90's series. WB probably would'nt figure out the possibilities, but one can dream.

I would love to see an Edgar Wright type taking on this.

The problem with most reboots of old cartoons or TV shows is the 'Poochie effect' i.e. from the Simpsons. 'Update' them to make the characters 'cool' and 'edgy'.

Look at Alvin and the Chimpunks and The Smurfs. Totally missed the ball on the innocent tone of the originals. Instead we get modern 'slapstick' which comes off as generic and low-brow.

so is this a dead project? It should be revived. Someone like Justin Lin would make a good director.

I was actually just thinking about this yesterday.

Too bad Rodriguez bottomed out some time ago

What happened to Fire and Ice flick? I want to see Genesis Rodriguez in a one piece suit, goddamn it.

Well, the Spy Kids films are indication he's got the chops for it. Hopefully he can capture rich visuals that Doug Wildey did for the cartoons. Still, first he should actually do Fire and Ice. He's been saying that would be his next feature for quite some time now. ...and if he does do Fire and Ice first and scores with it, I think it's a cinch he'll do well in Jonny Quest.
