Tanya Wexler is directing the film, working from a script by Scott Wascha. It follows Lindy (Beckinsale), a badass bouncer with a slightly murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal. After the first guy she’s ever fallen for is murdered, she goes on a revenge-fueled rampage to find the killer while the cops pursue her as their chief suspect. It certainly sounds more like Crank than the sort of movies Beckinsale has traditionally made.

"Jolt is a kick-ass and painfully funny script," Wexler tells Deadline. "When I saw that Kate Beckinsale was attached to play the lead, I jumped at the opportunity to make the movie. This is the movie for right now – a revenge-action film for every woman (and man) who wants to turn their inner Thelma & Louise up to 11."

As much as I love Kate Beckinsale I have trouble seeing her as a 'badass bouncer'! :funny:

‘Jolt’: Bobby Cannavale, Jai Cortney, Laverne Cox, Stanley Tucci Join – Deadline

Bobby Cannavale (Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle), Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad), Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black) and Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games) are joining Kate Beckinsale (The Widow) in Millennium Media’s action-comedy Jolt, which is now under way in London.

Tanya Wexler (Hysteria) is directing the feature about Lindy, an acid-tongued woman (Beckinsale) with rage issues. Lindy controls her temper by shocking herself with an electrode vest. One day she makes a connection with Justin (Courtney), which gives her a glimmer of hope for a shock-free future but when he’s murdered, she launches herself on a revenge-fueled rampage in pursuit of his killer. Meanwhile, detective Vicars (Cannavale) and detective Nevin (Cox) mark Lindy as their chief suspect.
