Daredevil Jon Bernthal IS Frank Castle / The Punisher!

Do you guys actually think Frank will rock the skull?

I have no reason not to think he'll be wearing his trademark skull. They may do a thing similar to S1 of Daredevil and we won't get the skull till the end, but I'm hoping like hell that this Punisher is already established and wrecking thugs left and right.

I'm right there with you. We don't need an entire season of build-up before Frank dons the skull. It was okay with Daredevil but I'd much prefer if we skipped the long origin this time. A flashback episode like how they handled Fisk's childhood would be great. I want him in the skull in his first appearance.

I agree. I want Frank already established and doing his thing from the get-go. After all this is DD's show, if they want to delve into Frank's past save it for his own show.......UNLESS perhaps Frank is the primary antagonist this season? We haven't received any news or announcements regarding casting for any other villains for this season and they've already been filming for a couple of months. Maybe Frank is the Wilson Fisk of season 2.

If he doesn't I'm going to be pissed. I really wonder what the showrunner's rational was for him not to have it initially at least.

I personally am not taking it for granted. That way, it's not a disappointment if it isn't there.

Speaking of Castle having the skull from the start, how should his introduction go? Daredevil having trouble against some goons, with Punisher observing and then intervening, sniping them from a rooftop or something.

I'm leaning towards Punisher is killing off bad guys, Daredevil is trying to take down a lead. Their paths intersect because Daredevil (while putting them in the hospital) is ultimately putting them in jail. The exact idea with the sniper is fine, although I would like him introduced separately well before they meet up.

In Childs Play and Ultimate Daredevil, Punisher is friendly to Daredevil at first. I would like if Frank decided to put on a skull because of seeing reports of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. A symbol to demoralize the enemy. :) Also, it would create a counterpart to Batman mythos, where they always blame Batman for inspiring costumed crazies.

Frank is bluffing, btw. I really enjoyed some of the jailhouse scenes in Ultimate Punisher and was hoping they'd be part of the story.

I can't find anything online, so here's Frank at another part of the story.

Not that I expect it to ever happen. But how would you guys feel if the Punisher ever wore a ballistic mask?

Like these:

Would you prefer it to have the white skull, or just keep it on his chest, and have the mask just be a normal color like this?

The mask puts him in a confusing Crossbones territory. No thank you.

Recently I've thought it'd be cool to see the Punisher wear some sort of cool protective head gear. A ballstic mask was the first thing that came to my mind. But ya'll make a good point. A ballistic mask is too close to Crossbones aesthetically.

If you're going real world, him wearing full body armor makes sense as a head shot would pretty much be it for him. In the Marvel-verse though no one ever thinks to do that or they're just such lousy shots they can't.

Resemblance to Crossbones aside, I think a ballistic mask would compliment the Punisher's outfit well.

I'm expecting them to share some courtroom scenes. Nelson & Murdock defending Castle after the cops bust him (or he turns himself in in order to go after someone already in prison).

I call this sort of guesswork the El Maybe Special. If I'm wrong no one will remember, if I'm right I can link back and look like a genius.

The only difference between each person here and Mayimbe is that he has a website that people look at and we don't.

Is Matt going to abandon his rule of only defending innocent people?

Frank never struck me as someone who wanted a lawyer (except for the opportunity to hurt said lawyer). He usually wants to do precisely that and go to prison as quickly as possible to start hurting people there too.

Right. I'm sure we've discussed that before, but it's a little unclear if that was a turning point or something unusual. Certainly, it would have left a bad taste in his mouth.

There's a difference between defending a guilty person, and defending a mob hitman, IMO. Or more importantly, in Matt's apparent opinion.

Matt wanted the case when he realized he could gain valuable info from it. ..I'm pretty sure this violates some lawyer ethic.

As much as a young Matt might want to defend only innocents, it makes little sense for that to (Edited) not last. The firm needs money, and there are also rules to force lawyers to take cases if a judge gets irritated at them.

I'm hoping the series opens with Frank's killing spree already occurring.

Bodies turning up everywhere.

It would be really amazing if Punisher will have his own long shot sequence similar to Episode 2. This time it will pay homage to Hard Boiled.

That would be ****ing awesome. :woot:

I really want Frank to be well into his Career as the punisher when we first "meet" him but if our intro to him is going to be any sort of origin/first night out, I'd love if we got something that paid homage to the shootout scene in Taxi Driver.
I remember it being mentioned that Taxi Driver served somewhat as an inspiration for tone and such for the first season, and I think this would be a nice way to continue that.
