Jurassic World - Part 4

I didn't not like the trailer. It's very okay/good. My missus said it looks like more of the same. I asked what she was expecting, she doesn't know... I like they're making a hybrid. Surely if they can do that then they can have a bit of a say in what the results are, maybe not make a dyno-god hybrid with huge claws and super intelligence that'll eat your nana for brunch. Just to try it out they could make a little furry one, a herbivore, one that isn't going to kill everything it sees. Would be a dull film though.

As in real life, anything that doesn't eat meat isn't worthy of my attention.

In fact most of these Dinosaurs look domesticated at this point. Is the entire movie just park officials/handlers chasing the D-Rex?

Not really what I expected. Guess all hell won't break loose. :(

Because those don't put butts in seats...even in the movies of all the dinosaurs shown...we only really remember the T-Rex and the Velociraptors

You gathered from just the trailer that the entire movie is just chasing the d-Rex with no other hell breaking loose? Come on Craig you're better than that.

I liked it. Not going to lie, that seen with Pratt and the Raptors turned out much better than it had any right to be. I'm really excited. Looks fun.

I do laugh at how the D-rex is the first "hybrid". Technically, all the dinos are hybrids of other DNA, which is why I'm glad they aren't putting feathers on.

Of course, I probably would've been content with just a film about exploring the operational park.

If there is no "velociraptors hunting humans" scene in this movie I will be disappoint

One would assume the D-Rex will escape its enclosure and cause havoc obviously. Of course it will also probably break into other enclosures letting other animals free to cause more destruction. And there's still the restricted part of the island which we assume is where the original park animals are still roaming free, unbeknownst to the public. There's plenty there for crazy stuff to be happening. To assume it will only be the D-Rex is silly. It's a JP movie after all haha.

I'm not sure where they go after this, there's already little justification for returning to the Park now, there's going to be almost no justification for any future films when the Park collapses here.

Even if it handicaps sequels, it's still a solid premise for the one film. The angle of "The dream of opening the park finally came true!" is genuinely new territory, even if what comes after (dinosaur chaos) may be more of the same. But that's a big part of the appeal of the JP franchise anyway. If sequels can't come up with something good that's a bummer, but that's the sequels' problem.

As long as the idea fuels at least one (hopefully good) film, it was worthwhile.

Good or bad, in the end, this movie has the potential for being an excellent satire for the recent trend of dredging up old franchises and parading them out for the public again, which to me, is more Jurassic Park than anything else.

So, does anyone know what the dinosaur is a hybrid of? Has it been confirmed anywhere what it is? I'm guessing a T-Rex and something else.

Been said many many times. It's like a page or two back, also Google.

On the topic of the hybrid, it's sort of disappointing because the appeal of the series is seeing dinosaurs, but it seems like it's being handled well so far.

Also, ligers are abominations.

I like the idea of trained and socialized Velociraptors. That's probably what I'm most excited about after seeing this trailer. I bet that should make for some cute scenes with Pratt and his raptor buddies.

Money on one of those raptors sacrificing itself to protect Pratt. I love it. An animal that was so feared in the first one is now a faithful ally (some of them at least).

It's not so weird, as any animal can pretty much be domesticated even if it still does maintain its instincts. These things were more or less hand raised by birth from humans apparently so attacking the thing they imprinted on is probably a long shot.

Tamed. Domestication is something else entirely. Although, Jurassic Park's dinosaurs sort of fit the definition better than real life pet birds do, so think on that, I guess.

I enjoyed the trailer. That piano theme is great, and it was very cool to see the park open and operational, with people there in droves. That's one thing we haven't seen yet. And idk why I've seen so many complaints of "poor cg", the dinos look good to me.

The scene that looked the best to me was the last scene with Chris and the raptors.

Interesting trailer. Not sure how this one will turn out but for now I'm cautiously optimistic.

They are not. :o

And I loved the trailer. I was worried about whether they could pull this off but so far it looks good & of course it was great seeing my man Chris Pratt in action again. :woot:

Hopefully things continue down this route.

A motorcycle dinosaur chase would be pretty cool. Especially since there's no cover on a motorcycle like there is on a car. So that'd give it an extra layer of danger.
Imagine the T-Rex snapping at Chris Pratt as he tries to escape on a motorcycle
