Jurassic World - Part 4

I was strolling through the JP Legacy forums (which is a big Jurassic Park fan site) and what I'm going to say isn't just limited to JP fans in general, but it does bother me when people overanalyze things with knee-jerk comments. It's cliche after cliche.

"I'm disappointed!" "The CG isn't good!" "The hype for the movie is dead for me!" "It looks so fake!" FOR a 15 SECOND TEASER. It's not even the complete preview and people are already complaining? It boggles my mind. And I've been around the block. I've seen reactions going from 'It sucks' to 'OMG, this is amazing' within months. The tried but true flat circle strikes again!

These people should be GLAD that there's even a Jurassic Park movie coming out in the first place. The franchise has been dead for nearly 12 years.

Judging effects on a laptop screen is a fools game, particularly 7 months before the release of a movie. At the same time though, that's the way the studio chose to premier the first bit of footage and well, it not surprisingly isn't great that way.

I just don't understand why this happens again and again and again. It's like people can't think for themselves and completely not self-aware of their thoughts when they react to thinks.

As stupid as teasers for trailers are, dammit, this is Jurassic Park we're talking about. So I caved. And yes, I'm pumped.

It's still very early with the effects for the most part some people don't realize that though. But I have faith the final product for the film will look just fine. But man that little teaser with the piano got me so excited. Almost shed a tear hearing the classic theme on piano, just a wave of nostalgia hit me so hard hahaha.

I like the cinematography. It's a little closer to the original's tones of colors.

I have more faith in this than, let's say, Tha Terminatoor.

Honestly the cgi doesn't look that bad. It's still so far from release that I'm sure they'll touch it up even more. I mean JW bringing back the JP films for the first time in forever I'm sure Trevorow will make it look awesome. But for a first trailer for a film not coming out til next summer, the cgi doesn't look that bad to me. Like I said to it will most likely get touched up a bit still also.

Looks friggen awesome to me.

So they have a monorail that leads to a lagoon right off that bat when the gates open? Very cool! Great to hear the theme again

:D So excited for the trailer! I usually don't get excited for this kinda thing anymore, but I really have my hopes up for this one! (JP is my all-time favorite movie and has been since I was a kid)

I don't see the big issue with the CGI.

I don't either, looks fine to me. And like I said if anything between now and the films release they might polish it up a bit more but it looks fine from my point of view. From the very brief little we see. :yay:

Yeah it's fine. It's the 'Strike One, you're out" mentality of fanboys that gets me.

Basically this. I don't get it either. They're quick to find negatives, sometimes negatives that don't even exist. And the cgi looks fine but they have so much time between now and release to touch it up more if they need to. But some people don't grasp that sadly.

Prepare to see the same type of reactions when SW epVII teaser comes out aswell. I'm really not envy of these people, it must sucks to be them. I got goosebumps watching that 15 second teaser, the music, the scenery, the dinos, can't wait for the full trailer.

I got goosebumps too, maybe a little teary eyed hearing the theme again like that and seeing the images in front of me. Just so ****ing awesome.

I can't image how these people are like in real life. They seem so cynical and unpleasant.

Again though, they have a choice in what they release and when they release it. And while cg often improves by the time the movie comes out, there's also the case of the last 2 Hobbit movies. That bunny sled looked just as bad in the theater as it did 6 months earlier.

The vast majority of big budget Hollywood sequels are kind of crap. Not everyone shares the same Pavlovian response to a few Williams chords.

But this is a case where 3 seconds of CGI is shown, and then you got fans who are upset by it. Instead of giving the film SOME slack, which is a foreign concept for some nerds. It all has to be absolute, in their eyes.
