Jurassic World - Part 6

1.) I never called Pratt a bad actor.

2.) I've reiterated that this goes beyond the one clip.

3.) Context is context, and dialogue is dialogue. The delivery is missing its mark, and I haven't been the first to state that. I'm just not feeling Pratt on this one. From his outfit to dialogue, he seems out of place here. Sometimes a clip does affirm one's opinion. I haven't felt good about this project since the premise was announced.

He seemed like Star Lord in that clip, only a less likeable and more annoying and obnoxious version of him.

It's... Kinda what he does here.

I would respond but I'm not sure what you mean..It's like you need a program to correct your sentence.

I'm making fun at the clip.

Laugh, damn you :csad:.

I agree, Whedon was being tacky. I'm not surprised that Whedon tweeted that though, he thinks that he is gods gift to filmmaking and he has Avengers box office, critical success and crazy fandom constantly keeping his head large by telling him that he is. I'm a fan of Whedon's work but I calls em as I sees em.

Also, after what happened with Charisma Carpenter, I don't know how anyone can hold him up as a bastion of feminism.

the media police has spoken, they will probably cut the scene prior to release.

Here to change the subject from this tiny clip which apparently has become such a huge deal to some of you.

Waiting for the complaints now about the CGI or whatever in 3..2..

Love it, I dig the concept of the little rollerball vehicles the park uses for visitors to basically go on high tech prehistoric safari! :D

Glad you like it Hunter cause I'm digging this pic too. Yeah that's the Gyrosphere they call it in the film. Cool stuff :yay:

They seem to have learned their lesson with automated 4 wheel vehicles bound to a track. This Gyro thing can probably go a lot more places during an emergency than the cars in JP1 ever could. At least now the park visitors won't be locked in a suv that's bound to a track.

All this coming from a guy that filmed a huge amount of close-ups of Scarlett Johanssen's ass.

:funny:

Eh, I have never been a fan of directors publicly talking about others work. Unless, they are asked directly. I always thought there was some code, but it was probably just bs on my part.

Agreed. I find it completely lacking in tact. Especially since it was on a single out of context scene. Don't get me wrong though, the scene was awful.

Even out of context -or specially out of context- the scene is not good, and they're putting it as a 'special clip from the film'. That's what bothers me.
It doesn't diminish my interest on the film, but the clip shows auto-pilot dialogue.

I agree that the scene was lackluster.

Hopefully I am wrong in my assumption but from the little footage that we have seen I'm leery of the quality of the dialogue.

Whedon getting his panties in a bunch over that clip

he needs to get over himself

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Brontosaurus!!

I completely agree with Whedon's comments, but I don't think it was very professional or tactful of him to say it, especially based on an out-of-context clip. If he had seen the whole film and found it problematic and wanted to open a dialogue, that would be one thing, but this was premature and tacky on his part, imo.
I mostly agree, but at the same time I also think some people are neglecting (or maybe even don't know about) is what prompted him to respond. It wasn't necessarily *just* the clip. He was responding to The Mary Sue tweeting
We’re too busy fanning ourselves to talk more about Chris Pratt in this #JurassicWorld clip. http://www.themarysue.com/jurassic-world-clip/
and I kind of agree with him responding to them since their tweet was kind of "we're ignoring that Pratt's character is acting like a total pig because he's a hot sexy guy" - which I don't agree with, I like Chris Pratt, but he was not sexy in that scene and did not having me 'fanning' myself.

That's just my take on it.

Anywho... I love that new pic of the dinos with the gyrosphere :)

Man, people get really defensive whenever anybody dares suggest that the gender dynamics of something are problematic. This thread is hilarious though "There's nothing sexist about this clip! What the hell does Whedon know about anything anyway, he's a terrible feminist! How arrogant, to share an opinion on something he cares about!"

All this coming from a guy that filmed a huge amount of close-ups of Scarlett Johanssen's ass.

There are no close ups of Johansson's ass in the Avengers...

The Loki Interrogation scene.

The Loki Interrogation scene.

Hardly a close up. Transformers 3 has a long close up of an ass. The interrogation scene, by contrast, is just placing the camera behind her. Not to mention, the quoted post suggested that there were huge amounts of that stuff, which is patently untrue.
