Wait, is this a new pic?

I didn't think it was sexist either and I think Whedon, who has a big mouth at times, overreacted.
I'd rather have strong women (even sexy ones that show their ass) than the idea that a woman who takes her career seriously and wants to be taken seriously seems to have a problem having fun and needs a man to show her how.
Tell me why that clip wasn't dumb? You can go on and on about Whedon's "feminism" and why it's annoying to you, but tell me how he's wrong about that clip? Go on. I'll wait.

Considering Penn's so-called "volunteer work" in New Orleans consisted of driving around in a boat so loaded with Penn's camera crew that he couldn't have rescued anyone even if he tried, I'd say not being like that is a good thing.
Im not saying that it's unimportant. I think it's very important. Ive been championing for more female leads for a while. I'm just saying I don't think the way Whedon writes women is anything special.
He wasn't the first to write an a**kicking female lead, and, imo he's not even the best that has done it.
IM just not impressed by him, his work; and how he's this big feminist figure.
I completely agree with Whedon's comments, but I don't think it was very professional or tactful of him to say it, especially based on an out-of-context clip. If he had seen the whole film and found it problematic and wanted to open a dialogue, that would be one thing, but this was premature and tacky on his part, imo.
I agree, Whedon was being tacky. I'm not surprised that Whedon tweeted that though, he thinks that he is gods gift to filmmaking and he has Avengers box office, critical success and crazy fandom constantly keeping his head large by telling him that he is. I'm a fan of Whedon's work but I calls em as I sees em.I completely agree with Whedon's comments, but I don't think it was very professional or tactful of him to say it, especially based on an out-of-context clip. That's a pretty big leap on your part. I don't see how having an opinion about something and not being afraid to express it publicly makes you arrogant or means you think you yourself are "gods gift to filmmaking". Why are we confusing honesty and having an opinion with arrogance?
I'd rather just let the film speak for itself all in context. It's okay to criticize and have an opinion about something, but to decry something based on one clip is strange to me.
People seems to be forcing things together just to either confirm their own fears or just to come up with conclusions that don't make as much sense. It doesn't help people are suddenly coming out of the woodwork to confirm something.
"I always knew so and so was a bad actor!"
Dialogue sounding funny within the trailers? You could say that about anybody in any trailer. Lots of stuff is taken out of context in trailers and mashed together to make it sound different. There really isn't much of an argument here. Pratt's a good actor too so I'm giving him more credit than to write him off based on one clip.

1.) I never called Pratt a bad actor.
2.) I've reiterated that this goes beyond the one clip.
3.) Context is context, and dialogue is dialogue. The delivery is missing its mark, and I haven't been the first to state that. I'm just not feeling Pratt on this one. From his outfit to dialogue, he seems out of place here. Sometimes a clip does affirm one's opinion. I haven't felt good about this project since the premise was announced.
Agreed. It'll be interesting to see how Whedon's career goes without Marvel. They pretty much plucked him out of near obscurity.
