Jurassic World - Part 6

I'm not writing off the whole movie because of one clip, but it definitely wasn't an appealing clip to show to try to promote the movie.

The first time I watched it, I was expecting something much more dramatic (like all of the trailers we've seen), so it was a little jarring to see a comedic scene.

But the second time I watched it, knowing what to expect and having a little bit of context, I actually really liked it.

I agree, terrible clip to show off to get a wide movie audience excited. But this was shown on MTV, so it fits perfectly.

Joke about doing it in his bungalow? Check.
Joke about a bad first date? Check.
Joke about her not wanting to drink tequila? Check.
Joke about animals having sex? Check.

For the SHH crowd, this is a strange clip, especially since we're all foaming at the mouth to see more. But for the MTV audience, this is the best thing they've seen since the last Nicki Minaj video.

It seems like they choose to clip because Pratt character clarifies that he doesn't control the raptors and it would put that complaint to bed.

This. I actually liked that the clip didn't have any action or money shots of the dinos in action.

Plus I liked that Pratt and Howard's characters have had a bit of history prior to the park opening.

I also feel that this scene is still better than any of Tea Leoni and William H. Macy's scenes in JP3. Good lord was that movie painful to watch.

didnt think it was that bad but we will see more concerned about the cgi more than anything

The scene wasn't that bad, but it DID feel like it was cut awkwardly. Like it could've been tighter in the edit.

Jumping jelly beans that's some horrendous dialogue.

Howard doesn't even remotely come across as the president(?) of a billion-dollar business, and they basically turned her into a flustered teenager just so Pratt could spout off some cliched sexual innuendos that don't land at all.

Yuck.

That clip. Wow. I mean it is par for the course with Jurassic Park III, but this is not a "return" to the grandeur of the first film.

I know those who say it's only a clip meant to showcase the comedy appeal between its two stars, but wow. It is very rom-com dialogue where a successful business woman is shown fawning over a bad boy who is making sex jokes.

The screenplay to the original Jurassic Park is not exactly Shakespeare, but the characters never came across as buffoonish in 2 hours like these two did in less than two minutes. Another way to say that is there are not scenes that felt more like they belong in a Katherine Heigl movie (or Meg Ryan by '93 standards). That is what this sequence felt like.

I didn't mind it so much that Pratt was hitting on BDH (because she is gorgeous) but the dinos having sex joke fell kinda flat. Felt like some stupid joke you would hear on Family Guy or written by Seth McFarlane.

But anyhow, I'm still pumped for JW.

I love the overreacting over this little clip with people saying how it lowered their expectations or "goodbye opening night for me". Yikes major overreactions honestly haha.

It'd be overreacting if JP3 never materialized but guess what? It happened. The trailers have been generic and Pratt sticks out like a sore thumb with his dialogue. No thank you. My biggest worry about this film was the script, and lo and behold... a clip that features horrendous dialogue.

I'll likely catch this two weeks after its release. If the ratings are low, I'll just skip out on it altogether. I don't got the revenue to be throwing around on a college student's salary.

But I want long boring unrealistic exposition! :P

I didnt mind the dialogue at. I think cuteness like this will only make the carnage stand out more. How many times i have watched Rom coms just wishing for a dinosaur to eat someone

I hope one of those annoying-looking kids bites the dust. :p

And geez I agree on the overreaction to the clip. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing some R-rated sex between Pratt and BDH either. I'd settle for PG-13 sex too for that matter. :hehe:

You know those uptight "organized" ones are the biggest freaks.

Super lame clip aside, nothing I've seen from Jurassic World has really impressed me thus far, if I'm being honest.

Me neither, and that clip further showcases why I'm not interested in watching this.

Just curious then why come to this thread if you have no interest to see the film at all? I don't go into threads of movies I don't want to see just to say "I don't wanna see this film".

I personally did have a slight interest...until that clip came along. I might change my mind later if it is receiving praise from audiences and critics but as of now, no thanks.
