Jurassic World - Part 8

From the trailers I've seen I didn't feel like we've seen too much at all.

I'm sure we haven't but it just feels like that way after seeing the Indominus Rex attack scene and the park being attacked by all the flying Dinos. I guess I mainly feel they should of kept the bubble car attack scene out because now I'm expecting it. It reminds me of the clown scene from the Poltergeist remake, they spoiled the scare by putting it in the trailer. But maybe this scene will be a lot longer and the trailer just touched the tip of the iceberg.

I actually feel like JW is the one movie in recent memory that has taken a conservative approach to marketing this film. Most of the trailers and TV spots are recycled over and over.

I feel the same. It feels like despite all the TV spots, there's a lot there holding back.

They're holding this special clip until near the end of the film, of course. So just wait to tune in.

Yeah, people like to dismiss Spy because they're sick of McCarthy, but it has gotten nothing but great buzz since SXSW and could very well end up being one of the biggest WOM hits of the summer.

I saw this last night with my GF after we explored Cedar Point, and it was surprisingly good. I think Paul Feig and McCarthy together are the only way to go, when it comes to her in films. Jason Statham played an absolute parody of himself and he was hilarious.

So apparently Best Buy is having a promo, and giving away free Nublar maps. If anyone gets an extra, can you hook a hypester up? I went to three different ones, and nothing. :csad:

We went Tuesday morning and there was no set-up. It was literally one little POP (point of purchase) in front of one of their SUHD TVs. There was one brochure, and the trading cards were just scattered next to it. So, I took the brochure and a T-Rex trading card. :o:up:

Has anyone here played the new Jurassic Park Arcade game? I played it at Dave and Buster's and Cedar Point.

The plot revolves around a volcano on the island that is about to erupt. InGen sends a team in to capture as many dinos as they can (like the T-Rex, Spino, etc.) and you're part of the squad. It's pretty intense, I loved it.

I honestly think that could be a GREAT idea for JP6, like a closer to the series. Saving the dinosaurs and putting it to rest.

That's pretty much the plot of The Lost World though with the merchs.

Where do they go from here, sequel wise? JP was a near damn perfect blockbuster film, and while you could go back and revisit the concept and tell further stories in that world, for myself that ending is just fine, much like the first Matrix film. However, economics forces us back, and the other two sequels just lack the most compelling aspects from the original. Now with JW they seem to say, "The only thing left is to have the Dinos wreck a fully functional park". Okay... And then what? What's next after that?

Dinosaurnado?

Dinosaurnado?

(Reads Snow Queen's post. Turns in swivel chair to look out window while drinking slowly from golden chalice, then swallows, turns back to keyboard and types...)

Yes. YES.

You know "Dinosaurnado" will be an actual thing that gets made. Asylum probably already has a script.

"Okay... Scrap that script for BEE-TEORS. They got a new JURASSIC PARK film coming out... Let's get working on a ripoff of that."

Come on, it has perfect potential for a spinoff trilogy in the Jurassic Park Shared Universe. :o
Why stop at a trilogy? That has 10 movie deal, with an option for 5 more, written all over it.

:funny:

Anyone else gonna grab the JW Lego game next week? I definitely am.

I feel going forward with the franchise would about have to be something to the effect of large numbers of dinosaurs invading the mainland. You could base a whole film trilogy on dinosaurs reclaiming the earth.

They can't do another theme park breakout after this movie, and revisiting the island after the destruction and rescue missions have already been done in TLW and JP3. They would have to go with an entirely new approach IMO.
