Jurassic World

For me, one of the more irritating plotholes (and continuity/prop errors) is the cause of the crash of the Venture in San Diego. I read somewhere it was a deleted scene. Note, it would be a sequence based on a deleted plotline from the novel of Jurassic Park - the raptors on the S.S. Anne, heading to mainland-but, no clarification is given, giving the the implication that the rex got inside the bridge of the ship.
I was reading on deleted scenes somewhere, and it was claimed that a lone Raptor was said to have killed them, and would have also escaped off the boat, but it still makes little sense in that the boat still made it to San Diego somehow. But I agree, that one bothers me too. It tries to make it seem like the Rex escaped, ate everyone, and that last guy managed to shut the door as he was being murdered. His death, even the death of the captain with the hand left on the wheel, makes way more sense if a Raptor or two had made it onto the ship.

Also, was it the S.S. Anne? Wasn't that the Pokémon boat.

No, It was the Anne. "Anne B", though that's from the novel.

Ugh, that really does feel like one of the largest movie plotholes of all time. All they needed was to find a way to show him push the car to the opposing side (which I don't think had electric fencing) or something. It really does make no sense. Wonder what anyone was thinking when it came to editing and such.

There's been fan speculation and such, but I just count it as a continuity flub, not a plothole.

Have you ever read them? If not, I'd definitely suggest/recommend it. They're great, and completely different from the movies.

No, I haven't. I've always had the idea in the back of my mind but never got around to it.

If you ever get the opportunity to, definitely. Though the second is a tad contrived, it's still really good, and I've read the first so many times I lost count.

The ship in the movie was the S.S. Venture, as an homage to King Kong. And wait a minute...what ship from the novel? The San Diego part was only in the film.

My bad, with the name.
Of course, maybe the raptor was caught with a Pokeball.
One line I had noticed last night was Lex's exclamation about the operating system being a Unix.

Caught the 3D JP1 last night before I saw Evil Dead. The conversion was very well done for a couple decades old film, much moreso than for Star Wars. Those shots of Hammond's mosquito encased in amber cane were good, as was the classic T-Rex attack. That scene where they're hanging off the rope and the car falls....man.

They showed that on TV once with the released eleted scenes edited back into the film. It was really cool.

And Speilberg didn't care about the Rex plothole? I want to say its lazy, but it really is true, it has never affected my viewing, it just bothers me a lot when I get to thinking about it.

I always just pretend there's a cliff and drop off somewher abruptly in the pin

I've tried that, like the fencing swaying and stuff already, the T-Rex breakout just snaps some wires on down, and maybe the enclosure was like squared off and that particular piece of fence was between the divide or something...it still manages to bother me sometimes.

Hey everyone, new user here. This looks like the best thread to ask a question I have:

Is it true that Jurassic Park 3D will only be theaters for a week? Or is it just the IMAX version that's for a week?

I think it's only a week. However, should it do well enough, I'm betting they'll keep it there a little while longer.

I did not know that.
In that event, I am happy I saw the film when I did.

I think they should go back to the animatronics/CG hybrids for this one, so if they have some kid actors they'll have something to interact with. Hell, even for the older actors.

I really do hope the use a hybrid of cg with animatronics, but honestly whats the most recent modern film you can think of that in recent years that has used animatronics.

Well that's a disappointment, I was really looking forward to seeing it but I couldn't this weekend, now it looks like I'm going to completely miss it. I hope it's at least still gonna play next Friday at least, and not go away Thursday.

If they had to start from scratch, they probably wouldn't even bother with animatronics. But I'm sure they still have the Rex, Raptor, and Spinosaurus puppets from Jurassic Park III (if not the earlier films) laying around somewhere. Even if the rubber skin isn't in good condition, I'm sure the "skeletons" have survived and probably still work. If they've still got the materials, why not use them?

I'm hoping JP4 has mystery, suspense and atmosphere. I greatly prefer that over straight up action scenes one after another. Not to say I dislike action, which we will surely get.

I'm not into shallow movies most of the time, but I admit, I love JP3 mostly just because of dinosaurs. that doesn't mean I like all those crap Asylum films and such, but since JP3 mostly still uses animatronics (although I stand by my feelings that the Spino animatronics don't look great) and makes me believe for the most part in the dinosaurs, I really enjoy it. It just sucks in comparison to the other films. Besides that, I liked seeing the lab and some other set pieces that previous film missed out on.
I do hope JPIV brings back the suspense and an actually good story. The last two films were primarily running and screaming. Although I'm still down to see all kinds of dinosaurs causing all kinds of havoc.

Real Steel and Transformers both used a combination of animatronics and cg
