I picked it up yesterday from BB. $40 Canadian & well worth it. I just LOVE the new theme song. And the stories are pretty sophisicated for a cartoon.

Great stuff.

Great stuff. Didn't catch much JLU when it first aired. Love the fight with Captain Marvel and Superman in Clash.

Funny thing I was watching the first two discs and started to miss The Flash. Then I hit disc 3 and 4 and he finally made some real appearances LOL. They should really do a series with him with Michael Rosenbaum as the Flash again.

Can't wait for the next season to hit DVD.

Pretty sure the DCAU is done forever. All of DC's animation projects in the near future look to be The Batman-style kiddie bastardizations and comics-oriented ideas. And the latter is fine, but I'll miss the DCAU.

Still love the one with Batman singing 'I'm so Blue' and Wonder Woman turns into a pig, oink! :D

It just goes to show how good the DCU was.Its a shame the cartoon was canceled..

Low point of the series. Except for Red Tornado calling Suey.

JLU's okay but the new opening theme song sucked.

I think we already have a thread for this. And the JL theme sucked, not JLU. Besides if you dont like JL that much, quit posting in that crappy caption this thread.

the JLU theme song opening is the best cartoon theme I've heard, I just wish it was longer and had more soft moments like at the start of it.

JL's was pretty good too.

WTF ya talkin about  Its the best one!
I'm talking about the crappy guitar riff they used for the opening of JLU. Not the absolute worst intro ever but it still sucked.

I loved the JL theme.
The JLU theme sucked ass.

...with the DVD, I already downloaded all of the episodes that I liked. :oldrazz:

You know Jourmugand, we may disagree on a lot of things, but I have to completely agree with you on this. It saddens me that the DCAU has been completely canceled. I've been watching these cartoons since I was 5 years old and they have a special place in my heart.

Thank goodness for the DVD. I own all of the DCAU on DVD (DTV and TV show) except for the second season of Batman Beyond, hooray for me :yay:

Well, we may get some great DTV's like The Near Apocalypse of '09 or hopefully a Crisis On Infinite Earths. :D

*Crosses fingers*

im planning on coppin once i get paid

I thought the season was pretty awesome. It was really a compelling and mature storyline IMO. And I loved the way the arc tied not only to STAS, but an older JL episode as well - and then even further tied the DCAU together by tying itself to BB.

The only thing that bugged me was the excess of property damage. Did you guys notice that? It wasn't so bad in previous seasons, but with JLU they leveled metropolitan areas on a regular basis. No wonder the government was scared of 'em.

Does anyone know if there are plans for a JLU Season 3?

and When is JLU Season 2 come out on DVD?

JLU Season 1 DVD included seasons 1 and 2 on it. JLU Season 2 DVD is going to have season 3 and it'll be out sometime next year most likely.

And no, there aren't any plans for a fourth season of JLU. The show is canceled.

Bruce Timm is now involved with 13 DTV projects based on DC properties.

Justice League: The New Frontier and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract will not be in continuity with the DCAU. These DTVs will be almost directly based off the comics that inspired them (just like how Marvel claimed that Ultimate Avengers was going to be just like the Ultimates), Darwin Cooke and Marv Wolfman are involved with them.

It isn't known yet if Superman/Doomsday, the untitled Justice League DTV, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash, will be based on DCAU continuity.

Warner Bros have expressed interest in making DTVs for the Dark Knight Returns (they want Frank Miller on board) and Kingdom Come.

Justice League: Unlimited (Season 1 - really seasons 1 and 2) was just brilliant. I love Wonder Woman and her development throughout the seasons was great.

Cancellation:
To here that it got cancelled makes no sense. A cancellation of a show indicates to me that noone was watching the show. I really can't believe that!!

Season 4:
If we were lucky enough to have had a Season 4 (of Unlimited), Season 6 (if you count Justice League as well), where do you think the show would have gone? Would we have seen storylines from:
Identity Crisis
a version of Kingdom Come
the Crime Syndicate
Tower of Babel
Infinite Crisis
the OMAC Project
the Star Conquerors
the Key
DC One Million
or even OYL

Why was this show cancelled!?!?!?

We wouldn't have seen those stories.

We are getting stories directly based off the comics. Most of them are too new and some like Identity Crisis would have been too mature for children.

As for the DTVs. I think that we'll see the Dark Knight Returns, Kingdom Come, Watchmen, and a few other stories that don't take place in the mainstream DC Universe that defined the comics industry.

As for stories that take place within the DCAU. I think Superman/Doomsday, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern will be in continuity with the DCAU. I think the untitled Justice League DTV will be the canceled Justice League DTV years ago that was supposed to take place between season 2 of Justice League and season 1 of Justice League Unlimited. And I think we'll see the Near Apocalpse of '09.

That's what I think will happen.
