This has to be one of the worst things I have ever seen, since Generation X and Nick Fury:Agent of Shield. I take that back actually...watching Captain Atom shrink was actualy fairly high grade. Judging on the acting and the filming style, i'd date this back to around 1993...maybe 1994. I am amazed however, at how long the DC legacy has existed, as far as television is concerned. It is a much more enduring (or at least reocurring) one than Marvel. Maybe they will try again some day, given the success of Smallville and Lois and Clark.

Uh... of course they've got a longer TV legacy than Marvel. Their heroes were around for longer than Marvel's.

Anyway, the JLA pilot was really bad.

I've always seen the images, but I never actually saw the video. That's a great bond that got going for them, abandoning a team mate when he has no home or job. Nice :)

Haha, yeah, no one likes Barry apparently. The Atom's special effects really did look pretty good, though. The Flash's effects weren't too shabby either. Kind of a live-action version of JL's blur effect.

I used a poor choice of words. I should have stated that the DC television legacy is more enduring than the Marvel legacy. We all know that DC has 60+ years to Marvel's 40+ years, but Marvel tends to have the more popular comic related outings, in other media. DC has had a pretty firm hold on television series (Batman, Lois & Clark or Smallville are easily more popular than any of Marvel's live action television attempts such as Spider-Man, Hulk or Mutant X), Marvel seems to perform better at the box office and in game sales. However, DC seems to have a more enduring legacy with multimedia, despite this fact.

More on topic though, for the potential time frame, I think that the pilot wasn't bad. I didn't like how they seemingly meshed Guy Gardner with Hal Jordan, but otherwise, it was fairly solid in appearence. Espeially to shows that may have been its contemporary, like NBC's The Flash (at least I think it was on NBC) or even M.A.N.T.I.S. (which i'm sure nobody rememers). This almost seems worthy of tracking down at some place like Frank & Son. Couldn't be more than $5 or $10 for a good laugh.

I found THAT TO BE PAINFULL TO WATCH.

I'd rather see a JLA movie than tv show. No 'to be continued's and better special effects.

Is it just me, or did that Flash look pretty fat?

He is pretty damn chunky for a man who does so much running haha

the fan made Grayson trailer is like 5 min long and it beats this garbage

The costumes in that clip were awful but overall it was incredible compared to the Justice League series that they did many years ago. They did that one for camp and it may very well have been the single worst thing ever done in any form of media.

ever seen batman dead end? or worlds finest?

Never heard of Dead End. Worlds Finest the comic has been around for decades. If you are refering to something else please explain.

Batman: Dead End

World's Finest

I can't decide what I hated more about the JLA pilot - a Barry Allen lacking any sort of intelligence or an overweight J'onn J'onnz.

Yeah, those two are certainly not the greatest but they are high art compared to that JLA they did back in the 70's.

J'onn seems to be wearing his current costume.

As bad as this pilot is (which I was wrong, it is from 1997, not 1994) I have seen worst super hero shows. M.A.N.T.I.S. involved the main character taking on a giant T-Rex as his final fight (if memory serves me). I doubt anybody remembers Super Force...but that show...seriously sucks. At the time, it seemed to have that Knight Rider-esque feeling, but boy was I wrong. When I saw it again, I realized it was the most crappy super hero program I have ever seen...

M.A.N.T.I.S., from what I hear, had a sweet pilot, but then Fox did what they do best and ruined the show, getting it cancelled after barely one season.

The character over all isn't that bad. It's about a man who is paralyzed. He builds an exoskeleton suit that allows him the ability to walk. He uses the suit (in conjunction with a dart weapon that can subdue people without killing them) in order to fight crime. He is rich and smart. So think of him as a cross between Oracle, Mr.Terrific and Batman. I have not seen this show since I was in like the 4th or 5th grade (i'm currently a univesity junior)...so I can't say this with too much certainty, but I think that if one were to see the exoskelton suit now, that it would look inferior and campy...thus lending to a lot of disappointment.
