I couldnt remember, I was browsing some titles in Barns and Noble and started reading some volume titles but it was just meh

you need the right arc or storyline to jump in.

*God Loves Man Kills
*Phoenix Saga
*Days of Future Past
*Operation: Zero Tolerance
*Ultimate X-Men 1st Arc
*Astonishing X-Men issues 1-24
*Age of Apocalypse

etc

well if I see those titles next time I visit barns and noble ill check it out but thats about it :p

I havent been in a comic shop in more than a year

But ive got i think the first issue of Ultimate X-Men

It's kinda hard to jump into a series with 40+ years of history and be engaged. Not like Batman, which has hundreds of one-off stories.

which is what I love about it, I can pick up any issue and get started with the story. If they did that, id probably read more X-men.

LOL, your avatar is awesome.

i dont mind one-shot issues at all. but sometimes it's not so bad to have long story arcs full of action, development etc. i remember the good old days when storylines weren't confined to the 6 issue arc format only because that's the size of a graphic novel.

anyone remember The Twelve arc? that ish was hinted around at for years and then when they made em rush to resolve it, it majorly came up lacking. what a disappointment when all the lead up, hints and speculation made it so fun

yeah I see what you mean but for me I prefer a graphic novel sized book (thats like 300+ pages) so I dont have to keep looking for the next vol or issue

Nowadays even one-shots are connected to a bigger storyline, so graphic novels are still the best way to read your comics

thats cuz you're ADD and no one can read long things anymore :(

and Vols and Issue comics are being combined to make a single graphic novel which I like

I like to carry around a novel that is small enough to put in my backpack. Pop it out everytime I need to wait

They really need to do a movie, or and animated dvd on that arc. It was pretty cool.

I have only read the Apocalyse arc of Ult X-Men... lots of action and over the top nonsense... but ok overall

it really was. that was the perfect arc and way to start the X-Men fresh. and then they got a bit carried away and way too convoluted again too fast.

would love to stay and discuss this but i'm beyond tired. goodnight all

this movie is blowing my mind

I've been debatin' whether or not I really wanna see this or not, but I'm startin' to lean towards 'yes'.
