Ken Ham vs Bill Nye (Is creation a viable model of origins?)

Didn't they make Jedi a full religion in Alberta?

I did some reading and it turns out the just accepted it as a write in choice for census in Alberta.

Most of them call BS on the prequels. :p

Look, if you have someone running around adding BS to something that's really good and interesting, you'd pick and choose too.

Picking and choosing, just like Cafeteria Christians.

Man I'd totally be guilty of that. What about The Holiday Special, is that canonical or apocrypha?
Do we celebrate Life Day or not?[YT]YRrm59Z_0w4[/YT]

...the Bible's accounts of the Genesis Flood or the Tower of Babel, many different SEPARATE versions of a flood account.
Simply put, due to the separation of myriad populations of people whom most certainly knew about the Genesis Flood account by eyewitness testimony from Noah and his three sons, there would seem that today's populations of people all had their own "flood story," when it reality the story Noah told was simply handed down and or recorded by each individual population.

Except like different languages, flood stories existed before it.

Heck, even though the exact time is not known, scholars agree that Moses lived well before this tablet was created, which was well after The Flood event. Even so, if one uses the Kings' Lists to date the time period for this tablet at ~2500 BC, then one is most likely in error on the date(s).

My point is this, the Gilgamesh poem, with some really MINOR variations, may simply be a retelling of the story Noah and his sons told everyone prior to Jehovah creating the different languages.

Majority of scholars today agree that Moses didnt write the first five books of the bible. Modern thought (based on knowledge and history of the region) is the books were written around 530 BC. Long after the Sumerian tablets. There isnt even a minute bit of evidence anywhere that any man named Moses ever existed to back up the Bible story. Point is the Genesis story was no where near being the first account of a flood.

And there are flood myths going back to at least 17th century BCE (the tale of Ziusudra, written in Sumerian) and the 18th century BCE (Atra-Hasis, written in Akkadian).

What can you offer so as to support the veracity of the dates you're asserting for these tablets?

The 11th in the Gilgamesh poems only dates to 7 BC. Where do you derive these dates from?

Wrong. The copies of The Epic of Gilgamesh that are in the best shape date to the 7th century BC. Those arent the oldest copoes we have. The story itself and the oldest Sumerian stories date back to before 2000 BC. This is widely known and accepted. Try again.

First, you and I have NEVER discussed dinosaurs per se. Maybe fossils, but NEVER dinosaurs.

Second, myself and no other person on SHH has discussed dinosaurs per se. Maybe fossils, but NEVER dinosaurs.

So understanding, please know that while I literally enjoy talking to all kinds of skeptics, even when mine and their opinions and or beliefs are diametrically opposed, I draw the line when it comes to having dialogue with immature, histrionic, and cynical nihilist such as yourself and simply choose not to bother with it.

We're done until you decide to grow up.

You're calling me histrionic?

Your beliefs are diametrically opposed to reality, not my opinion or beliefs.

Saying we're done, suggests something has happened.

So when DO you think dinosaurs walked the Earth?

First off, I want to correct myself as when addressing your posts I meant to mention Abraham in certain replies and mentioned Moses instead. Mea culpa and I will edit those post accordingly in the near future.

As far as being widely known and accepted, I personally know of no other copies and I have studied things like this out for several years now. No, I am not an expert, but I am open minded about things and would not "hide" evidence that controverted my worldview when it comes to the Holy Bible.

I will again begin a search to see if I overlooked OR HAVE FORGOTTEN anything, but in the mean time, all things being equal while I go look, may I suggest that you also Google/Bing search the following: Archeological catalog designation CBM 13532.

Lemme know what you think... Thanks.

If youve studied this stuff for years there is no way you missed existence of older copies.

I googled that thing. Its your typical fundamentalist psuedo "history". Completely out of sync with all of what we know about the time period they are discussing. And entirely out of sync with archeological and anthropological evidence.

I did find this funny tho:

The Gilgamesh Epic is likely a corruption of an older document. It is so full of fanciful and unbelievable details that probably no one ever considered it true.

Pot kettle black.

My real question is if people prior to Noah were living 900+ years how is the Earth only 6000 years old.

Hell Adam lived nearly 1/6 the Earth's entire lifespan.

I for one would like to hear from one of those ancient alien guys with a doctorate from the University of Phoenix regarding this subject.
