I've been following this project adamantly since Marvel announced it a while back.
Matthew Vaughn was a great choice for a director, but I'm much more impressed with [Academy Award Nominee] Kenneth Branagh.
So we have a date (July 16, 2010) and a great potential director.
All we're missing is a star, and my choice is Kevin Nash.
Here's a guy that not only fits the bill physically, but has proven in small yet memorable roles that unlike most wrestlers which have poor acting skills, He has what it takes to lead an action film of this nature.
We all know he was the best thing of the '04 Punisher, the show stealer in Adam Sandler's The Longest Yard and the best guy to mock Hulk Hogan in DOA: Dead or Alive.
To add to that he's also a guy that won't cost Marvel $20 Million.
I know nobody wants to take into account the 20 years of professional wrestling and the most popular in-ring persona of the business, but these are qualities that are definitely gonna benefit the portrayal of this character - a mytholigical God of War.
Not to mention the physical attributes he posseses that mimic Thor's:
-6'10"
-330 lbs
-Scandinavian descent
-Big comic book fan
I was really thrilled to see this next interview, for I think it may provide a clue as to why Nash is planning on taking time off TNA this coming year and why he decided to let his hair and grays grow out.
Take a look at the shirt he's wearing...

Nash is a great actor despite the reputation of wrestlers in cinema. He is also a talented writer (responsible for the creation of the NWO) and actually did a good job with his self titled comics in the 90s. Kinda Mad Max meets Resident Evil.
If this is our Thor and Branagh is our director, I am gonna LOVE 2010.
