I hope Comic Con 2010 has some Thor footage or a teaser trailer or something. The film starts shooting in January and Comic Con is usually in the summer. 6 months should be enough time to put together something worth showing, right?

Yea I should think so. At least a teaser anyway. Maybe some promo shots and early posters.

not too bothered about the teaser, what I am desparate for is the first look at thor himself and his hammer in a photo.

I'd love that as well, but I expect we'll get that long before Comic Con.

I'm a spidey fan first and a thor fan second but I'm starting to look forward to thor more than spidey because of the rumours I'm hearing concerning SM4. I have next to no interest in the cap movie or the green lantern movie.

I'm looking forward to Thor and Cap. I don't think we really need another Spider-Man film and I'm not a fan of Hal Jordan, so Green Lantern is playing to a different demographic than mine.

haven't ever been a cap fan or a green lantern fan although I loved the GL in JL/JLU and blackest night is blowing me away. could care less about the movie. I'm a little 'meh' with spidey currently but I just KNOW the second they start showing photos of the villians I will be all over it.
thor is definately the movie I am most looking forward to for 2011.

GL has a lot of comicbook nerdish-ness found less in Cap and Thor. Look, Cap is about a heroic soldier in WW2 settings. Thor is based on the often overlooked Norse Myth. GL is simply out of this world and if you're not a comicbook fanatic you'd have a big chance of getting lost watching it.

not to mention those green constructs may look STUPID on the big screen.

No ! The set begins in january
So we will see the hammer and thor's look in january. Don't worry, be happy.:yay:

I don't see why not. Iron Man started shooting in March and IM2 in April of their respective years and still had footage to show at SDCC. Thor's got no excuse not to have something there. Especially since it definitely needs the publicity just like IM1 did.

I'm hoping for something with IM2. Not actual footage, but a teaser with like lightning & maybe a shot of the hammer.

I don't think Hal in the movie will be like Hal in the comics with Reynolds playing him. He'll be much more fun.

yea since principle photography will probably be long over by july's comic con. I am sure they will probably be premiere a special comic con only trailer footage of stuff, then probably posts and maybe if it wasnt revealed yet the look of the costume and the hammer.

As for upcoming comic films. I am #1 a huge spidey fan he is my top character. But i love superheroes in general. So i am down to see the next bunch of hero films due out in the next two yrs hex, losers, im2, then gl,cap, thor, sm4 and what ever else might happen.

GL has an actiony space opera quality to it that might interest fans of stuff like Star Wars or the recent Star Trek revamp, though. Plus, everyone seems to love Ryan Reynolds.

My hype levels for the upcoming superhero movies:

1. Batman 3 (assuming an announcement is made soon, and that nolan is returning.
2. Iron Man 2 (The first one was pretty good, but the second looks amazing)
3. Green Lantern (I'm getting a big star trek 09 vibe from this one, I feel like its gonna happen at the right time, I love ryan reynolds, and martin campbell, and eva green)
4. Thor (I have never read a thor comic in my life, know next to nothing about the character, though I'm open to recommendations, and I'm intrigued as to how this will turn out)
5. Spider-Man 4 (I haven't liked raimi's approach to spider-man, or tobey, or kirsten, but I love the character. Hope the rumors about vulture are false though, lame villain.)
6. Captain America (mildly interested, pretty much the same deal as thor, though I'm not as intrigued. I really hope it turns out to be quality, and not just as a big teaser for avengers.)
7. Avengers (Unless this is handled perfectly, it could get extremely messy, or even extremely average. Hope it comes together as well as fans are dreaming it will.)

yea for me there is certain character i like alot and cant wait to see films. Also others like cap/thor i dont really know alot on the character but i cant wait to see how things turn out.

Definitely read J. Michael Straczynski's run. I read very little of Thor before his run, and this didnt make me feel lost at all. It's a great place to start.

When he's asked who's in the cast he answers with the obvious leads (Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Portman and Hopkins) and also Skarsgård. Seems to imply Stellan's got a meaty role.

i am surprised still we dont have any confirmation on what stellan's or colm's roles are.

All signs seem to point to Skarsgård's role being Jane Foster's professor and to be honest I would be surprised if Feore's role wasn't Malekith.

I'm wondering if Branagh himself will play a role in this movie.

Feore usually plays bad guys, right? Well he may be some character who may be a movie creation(like Rachel Dawes was) that hasn't existed in the comics. I don't know why but I get the intuition that he may play the part of some regular human villain here on Earth who may or may not be sort of be an agent of Loki(whether he knows it or not......I guess could go either way). Just a hunch. Thor might need something like that to screw it down more to our reality/our ability to relate.
