Documentary/Biopic Killing Gawker | Affleck is Hulk Hogan?!

There is talk that if/when the project goes forward, Affleck and Damon would be eyeing playing Hulk Hogan and Peter Thiel, respectively. There had long been talk of a Netflix Hulk Hogan Biopic starring Chris Hemsworth but that project has stalled and if GAWKER goes forward, it could be Affleck hitting the screen as Hogan first instead.

The screenplay for KILLING GAWKER is written by Charles Randolph, 2016 Academy Award winner for Best Adapted Screenplay for THE BIG SHORT. Randolph's screenplay is based on the February 2018 book Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker, and the Anatomy of Intrigue by Ryan Holiday. That book chronicled the lawsuit WWE Hall of Famer Hogan filed against now-defunct website Gawker for publishing a sex tape video Hogan wasn't aware was being filmed in the moment by former friend Bubba the Love Sponge. The tape was later stolen and leaked. Thiel, the former CEO of Paypal, funded Hogan's lawsuit in secret in order to hurt Gawker, which had previously published negative stories about him. Hogan ended up winning a huge judgment and Gawker was shuttered.

Totally out of left field casting if there is validity to this report. I kind of want to see how he’d do his impression.

Well, people make movies about POS’s all the time. You can even win an Oscar for it. It’s how it’s presented, the good with the bad.

Hogan was a producer on that so it wasn’t going to be anything close to honest.

Yeah, Hulk is a racist. He reminded everyone at the RNC just a couple weeks ago, just in case people forgot.

No idea why Affleck would want to do this. He would have to either add a ton of muscle mass again or wear a ridiculous prosthetic suit.

As a kid, I loved Hogan growing up, but in recent years, not anymore!

even peek Batflect was he really anyway near Hulk size???
(don't get me wrong he impressive enough size for Batman)

but, Hogan is a completely different body type
(gained this was much later in Hulks live, so, I guess he was peek size anymore either)

Affleck wouldn’t really need to get huge. It’s not like Jeremy Allen White had a physique like Kerry Von Erich, but he was still incredible in the role.

I prefer when the POS who’s the subject is in jail or already dead and doesn’t benefit as directly from it. I hope this doesn’t do well if it ends up getting made and released, but at the same time relieved Hemsworth didn’t do it. He would have made Hogan look good regardless of how much he tried not to.
