Documentary/Biopic Killing Gawker | Affleck is Hulk Hogan?!

Do we know that Hogan will benefit from this project?
I imagine he will love the notoriety of having a film made about him and given he’s the “victim” and that there was a court case underpinning it all, I wasn’t expecting them to be able to take an all out dump on Hogan to the extent I would have wanted. Still, better than when Hemsworth was playing him. That would have been an ego boost however else he was portrayed.

The fact that two of the most vocal Democrats in Hollywood are portraying two of the most notorious Trump supporters, I have a hard time believing Hogan or Thiel will be portrayed all that favorably. Especially considering Hogan was outed as a racist during the time of the lawsuit.

That the title is “Killing Gawker” and not “The Trial of the Innocent Hulk Hogan” gives you an idea of what the movies viewpoint will be.

I can't wait to see the makeup/prosthetic job done on Ben to make him look like Hogan. Will need to be Colin Farrell As The Penguin levels of "holy **** he's completely unrecognizable".

The film was at one point optioned under Seth Gordon's Option A, but later lapsed. PWInsider.com has confirmed that during that period, the hope was for David Harbour to play the Hogan role and Jared Leto eyed as playing Thiel. Instead, the Affleck/Damon version looks to be moving forward very quickly.

Now, insiders have told DailyMail.com that Affleck and Damon – who own production company Artists Equity – are ‘not afraid of any legal ramifications’ and will not be contacting Hogan or anyone else who was involved in the scandal.

‘There are no plans for Ben and Matt to reach out to Hulk Hogan right now as they are still trying to finalize filming dates, put together the rest of the cast and sort all pre-production,’ they said.

They have a vision and a script, and they don't want to contact Hogan or anyone who is a part of the story as they don't want to be manipulated in any way. They are going to let the facts do the talking and tell the story they have put together.’

They continued: ‘Hogan understands this isn't a documentary, but if Ben and the gang want to talk to him for any advice, Hogan is willing to chat with Ben or anyone that ends up playing him on film.

‘Ben and Matt and Gus Van Sant [director] are confident that they will be able to tell this story the way they want it.’

They finished: ‘They are not afraid for any legal ramifications to come from it because if you tell a story that is the truth, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.’

Pamela Anderson wasn't able to stop that Pam & Tommy TV show about her sex tape. All she could do was complain about it.

So I assume that's going to be the same deal with this.
