Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Even if Ninjago hits $40M opening weekend (and Kingsman hits $45M), it's rare to see September with two $40M+ plus openers on the same weekend.

More studios are realizing that September has the potential for moneymaking, with the right films.

IT just made $117 million. That never happens. It's unprecedented. All bets and predictions are pretty much off now.

I really liked the original, but I just can't get excited for this one. Don't know why.

There is not much else to watch at the cinema this time of year. This is an easy must watch for me. Its a good thing this moved from its former crowded June release date.

'IT' made 123.4 million in it's OW. I think Kingsman 2 is the one movie that would have benefited from an August release date. It would have played like THB but with a much bigger OW. It could have played in the barren August and the Labor Day weekend with very good returns. Talking strictly about the studio (20th Century Fox), they didn't have a single release in August so I think it is a missed opportunity on their part. 'IT' has become the event movie that the GA were starving for. Kingsman 2 doesn't have that big Sept. release hype that FOX were hoping for anymore. (155-165) million seems to me the likely higher end of the range for Kingsman 2.

The first Kingsman did well in February which was typically another dead zone but now that's changed with Kingsman, Deadpool, etc. They probably wanted Kingsman as a fall movie away from all the summer fare. I agree though, the film probably would've played well in August where there was virtually nothing out except Annabelle and that's a horror movie. Dark Tower was a bomb, so Kingsman probably would've done fine there.

I love the first can't get excited for this at all I'm not a Tatum fan maybe that's it but I enjoyed the 21 jump street movies

and I love Pedro Pascal but that lasso "gimmick" is corny IMO

I read the test screening reactions were positive. Very happy, hope it does well and they set the third one in Australia :D

Why so? Tatum is far from being a male lead in this one.

Well, at least it's a positive review. I was getting worried given how long it's taking till the embargo lifts.

A few ppl have broken embargo and uploaded their reviews on YT. All positive.
