Kofi Annan claims destuction of U.N. Outpost by Israeli airstrike to be "delibrate"

WTF? they're observers, where should they have been? Detroit?:down

Anywhere else but a war zone.

If you get in between combatants and get your butt kicked, it's your own fault.

Some cops got shot in my neighbourhood the other day.

Oh well. Shouldn't have been in this neighbourhood.

They are there to enforce the law.

Observers enforce nothing.

LOL I just read this

http://www.nysun.com/article/36860

UNITED NATIONS — An apparent discrepancy in the portrayal of events surrounding the deaths of four unarmed U.N. observers in Lebanon threatens to unravel Secretary-General Annan's initial accusation that Israel "deliberately" targeted the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon.

A Canadian U.N. observer, one of four killed at a UNIFIL position near the southern Lebanese town of Khiyam on Tuesday, sent an e-mail to his former commander, a Canadian retired major-general, Lewis MacKenzie, in which he wrote that Hezbollah fighters were "all over" the U.N. position, Mr. MacKenzie said. Hezbollah troops, not the United Nations, were Israel's target, the deceased observer wrote.

Kofi can you say pwned?! But I guess the man's teflon, his son gets caught misappropriating funds yet he's still kept his position.

Why is Kofi so quick to jump to conclusions about Israel? What a piece of ****! No wonder nobody takes the U.N seriously anymore.

Because he's in charge of an organization that favours terrorist organizations and dictators.

How long does Kofi get to be UN Chief anyway? Hasn't it been long enough already?

What is it, will no one else take the job or what?

Is he elected for a term or does he just hang around until he feels like leaving?

I think I heard that he and several other members are set to leave office at the end of this year.

What is war good for? Absolutly nothing

Good, he's stood in the way of solving many of the UN's problems.

Though I don't really expect his exit to really solve things.

you know jonty, i find it highly ironic that when your nephew beat the crap out of you you incessantly whined that nobody should have to tolerate violence against them. yet, here you are blaming these un members for being there and getting bombed, with no condemnation of the people who bombed them. i guess it only works when it's about you, huh?

I repeat once more, I didn't want to risk a criminal record over it.

They knew full well that they shouldn't have been there. They should have been thinking of the bigger picture.

I think you misunderstood my statement. I'm well aware of your claim that you didn't want to get in trouble for defending yourself against the brutal assult brought down by your young nephew. I was just stating that if you actually believed no one should have to tolerate violence against them, why would you be so callous about the deaths of innocent UN peace workers? And, before you reiterate you statement that they shouldn't have been there in ther first place, where else should they have been trying to observe a war in an attempt to win peace?

Peace, sinewave, is exactly what Jonty and Fred Fury are "against". As long as there are nameless foreigners being blown to pieces miles away from them, they are content. The darker their skin, the better. There are a wealth of people on this planet who would rather sit back and enjoy the explosions than try to figure out a way to end them. If there is no "enemy", there is no one to kill, no bombs to loose and no guns to fire. Peace just doesn't work for some people.

I'm not so sure I believe you on this. Fred_Fury might feel this way, I don't know him well enought to say either way. Jonty, however, is probably a little more level-headed about the prospects of war and peace. Sure, he's a blindly loyal conservative who contradicts himself on a daily basis, but I think if you really looked deep inside his psyche you'd see decent person who's just got a messed up outlook on the world due to having caught a lot of s#!t for being a supreme dork.

You're an optimist I see.

Far from it. I straddle the line between realist and pessimist. I just know that nothing is ever clear cut.

Dude, you know they totally wanted to die.

Oh of course. I mean, War Lord's right, they were totally asking for it.
