as a kid, i was always confused about 'Is there a doctor in the house' joke and then you'll see a person standing up from the seats.

Then I realized that the toons were originally shown in theaters before features, and were mostly aimed at adults, hence the more mature humor.

Since women couldnt serve in WW2 they did their part in other ways and factories were those ways. They riveted among other things.

Yeah. I get it. It was just a bit of a facepalm joke. There's anti-semitism in Ukraine. Lots of Jews died in World War 2. American women riveted in World War 2. Okay. It's not so much it was offensive, just too much straining to make a funny.

You CAN get the unedited versions on DVD, but on TV (which is rare now) I assume it's the safer Looney Tunes episodes?

That's actually a possibility. In Iran in 1978/1979, a lot of Khomeini supporters had acquired uniforms which resembled those of the Imperial guard and opened fire on many of the pro-democracy and pro-communist protesters. In doing so, they took down a considerable number of political rivals should a referendum occur (which it did), as well as create widespread disdain for the monarchy.

Possibly, but to be honest, the Ukrainian side of the conflict hasn't exactly displayed such a level of effectiveness that would indicate they would be capable of that.
