One of the more annoying tics about early Kyle Rayner GL comics was his habit of continually telling everybody how much he "deserved" and "had earned" the GL ring.

I always just thought they could have made the point without verbally harping on it so ham-fistedly. Oh well, that's Ron Marz for you I guess.

I personally like the personality clashes of all four Earth GL's. It was my favorite part of Rebirth, by far. The artist, the hothead, the old school and the pragmatist. Very cool.

I was never all that impressed with Kyle. I've never bought the "Artists make better Green Lanterns" argument. I would say that Engineers, and architects would make the best Green Lanterns.

I never thought they were saying that artists made better GLs. Just different ones. John Stewart, who is an architect and engineer, is a great GL as well, but in a different way than Kyle. Kyle's strength is his ability to adapt and improvise. John, on the other hand, comes up with very well thought out and detailed plans (and constructs).

I never really liked Kyle because he's an artist. I liked him because he had the toughest job out of any Green Lantern ever and he did it pretty goddamn well. I'm glad he's still respected by the GL Corps as the Torchbearer.
