Land of the Lost

The only reason I might see this really is for Anna Friel. Never saw the series.

Loved Anna Friel as Chuck on the tv show Pushing Daisies, but will wait for the dvd release with this one.

meh, not interested

Ferrel should go back to supporting roles like in Old School

I really don't know how to feel about this after seeing the trailer :csad:

I think the trailer was too Ferrell-centric. After the opening with Lauer(hilarious), it sort of nosedives into a bunch of Will doing this and that. What are Danny McBride and Anna about?

I have a feeling that the movie will be fun, but the trailer itself is kinda bland.

I laughed pretty hard during the trailer. I may actually like this movie!

Looked unoriginal but also looked kind of funny too.

Unoriginal? Well..it is based on a kid's TV show.

Well, I mean, it kind of looks like Jurassic Park meets Indiana Jones 4 meets Journey to the Center of the Earth meets King Kong kind of thing.

Hey! They stole my idea!

Sigh........kids these days.......

I'm not sure I mean it has some funny moments and things I would like to see in a Wil lFarrell movie it's just....this is LOTL, does it need to really change all that much?

Working on getting advance screening tix to this movie for this weekend.

I'm still worried about the film being a mere comedy vehicle for Farrell, but hopefully the cool-looking Sleestaks and dinos will help.

^ Plenty of confirmation that Marshall, Will and Holly are NOT related in this version.

Thats my main problem so far, is that they changed Will and Holly.

It has one memorable line:

Matt Lauer can suck it!

(Does DX pro wrestling chops)

Ever since Will Farrel left SNL, I haven't at all been a fan of his films and this film is no different. I watched a whole day's worth of the old TV series the other day and they showed ad's for the new film during every break and it was litteraly like two different subject matters. Night and Day. They literally could have gotten away with giving this movie a different title and nobody would have compared it to the tv series. Sure, there's elements from the trailer and tv series I noticed (T-Rex, hairy monky boy...um..three humans?) but other all....it's just a stupid comedy. Where as the TV series was a show for kids on drugs to watch, the movie looks like kids on drugs made it.

Granted, I haven't seen the movie, but the trailer doesn't at all catch my eye and scream "WATCH ME, PAY $10 FOR ME, WILL FARREL"....Instead it screams at me "LOOK, THIS HAS WILL FARREL IN IT...wait for it on cable".

Were people seriously thinking they were going to make a SERIOUS adaptation of the Land of the Lost TV series? The only way to go is the comedy root. The old show is very funny... in an non-intentional way. The most memorable things from it are the dinosaurs and sleepstacks, which they've kept.

Aside from Semi-Pro, I thoroughly enjoyed Will Ferrel's comedies, and the guy is just a hilarious actor and I expect the movie to be entertaining...and with Danny McBride in the mix, I expect a lot of great adlibbing.

I'm not asking for MacBETH but LOTL could be more akin to the first Jurassic Park.

Sadly, I think this film will be better than anything that the TV series' offered.

I've read reviews a few weeks ago, and I heard that it's not that bad.

Plus, I love the old show..and the Nickelodeon show too.

Anyone else picking up the re-release of the show on dvd? I'm getting the lunchbox edition..looks sooo cool.
