I've got some basics in German, French, Italian. I use to be pretty good with Spainish. I've just joined a Russian language group those folks are super fluent and many are Russian, total immersion here I come!
 
I know English and some basic German. If I end up teaching English in China next year, I hope to add some Chinese to the list.

I know English, Klingon and American Sign language. I want to learn Mandarin and Hindi (or punjabi).
 
Im really not trying to be a jerk to any Germans or german speakers but the German language has to be one of the UGLIEST languages I've ever heard. Its so harsh and brash. ugh.

And yes, I know English was derived from German but still. Its painful to hear.

So many people say that. Whatever, it's perfect for poetry/drama/speeches/comedy etc. Speaking both Russian and German, Russian sounds a lot harsher than German to me.
 
I speak english, french and some farsi.

However my GF speaks Dutch, English, German, Franch and Spanish all fluently. That is why I always travel with her when I am in Europe. :)
 
I'd like to know where some of you are from. It's much less common to see polygots like most of you seem to be in the USA than it is in Europe and Asia? So where are some of you pentalinguals?
 
Austria, homeland of the Schnitzel. And the Terminator.
 
English, Spanish, French, Bengali. Just sayin Bengali is the most spoken South Asian language...
 
English, and a slight bit of French. I've always felt guilty being Canadian and not knowing how to speak French :(

Je ne parle pas francais tres bien.
