Laptop/Notebook suggestions

Macs are best for visual stuff like making art and film related programs.
PCs are better for gaming and writing reports.

How can PC's be better for writing reports? You can get the same office suites for both Macs or PC's.

I would go with a Mac. Most PC's come with Vista and it's certainly not great for handling Adobe or After Effects programs. Thats why I'm going to dual boot into XP so I can edit there. But if you can find a PC with XP, go for it!

Because aside from gaming, Microsoft Word is all PC's have going for them :cwink: So I gave it to them, despite it being available for both.

Actually from the little I've done with it so far, iWorks and Pages is alot more user friendly than Word... And I never have to see that damn paperclip again.

Okay. I was like... And, yes, iWork is pretty damn cool. NeoOffice is also excellent on the Mac side. Let's face it, the only thing PC's have going for them is, exactly as you said, games. And that's changing, too, with more and more game developers paying attention to the Mac. So, PC's are basically just expensive toys anymore. :D And I'd rather play games on a console, anyway.

Better yet, get a Mac and dual boot THAT into XP when you absolutely have to use Windows.

My Photoshop teacher told us about how Apple made this huge deal with Medical Companies over technology that allowed instant 3d models of x-rays or something like that. And how pretty much every hospital and doctors office will have to convert to Macs if they want to use it.

I read over those articles and all I have to say is they are biased. Especially the price one. I've been looking over prices, compare the laptop I posted above to a similar MacBook and we'll see which price is better.

:whatever:
