Having yet to buy an 8th generation console, I wonder about this with every major release. We've had Watch Dogs, and Destiny is coming later this year, but I wonder how much longer will we be getting big games for the PS3 and Xbox 360?

I think it ended with GTA V. Rockstar tends to push the consoles with just about every release they drop and GTA V did just that. Liking or not liking the game is one thing, but you cant argue its technical achievement.

As for how long we will keep getting games for the older gen? Id say as long as publishers can convince developers to make their games for all consoles. Thats going to get tougher as time goes on and these developers ideas get larger and larger.

I found it interesting that with The Order, they are already considering (or at least entertaining the idea of) porting it to the PS3. I can't even think of a recent example of that (a game being ported to a previous system). The only thing that comes to mind is the original Sonic the Hedgehog, which got an 8 bit rerelease for the older Master System.

Did The Last of Us come before or after GTA V? If the latter, I'd say TLoU, if the first, then GTA V.

One could make the strong case for anything released on the PS3/360 that went to the Wii. The first Dead Rising for example
