Tomorrow at 12:00 pm (Pacific Time), we will be closing our recruitment drive for the Contest Of Marvels Season 2. Currently, we have 16 contestants, and anyone else who wishes to join and try to win some prizes given along the way would be welcome.
In this contest, we have 512 characters from the Marvel Universe. They are all put into 8 seperate brackets, set up very much like the college basketball brackets. To advance to the next round, each character must get more votes than their opponents. This is almost identical to Sparta's Marvel Comic Character Tournament, except the owner of each character gets to debate why they believe their character should advance. All votes must take into account the debate, not just randomly who they believe would win.
Everyone is free to vote, but only those who wish to debate can win the prizes. Six prizes are given out. After round 1, the player with the most characters still around for round 2 gets at least 25 comics sent to them. Also, we reward the person who does the worst. That person gets the 2nd prize. At the end of round 2, we do the same thing. The person who does the best and the person who does the worst get prize packs 3 & 4. The next rounds go pretty quickly; so, the last two prizes are the grand prize and the runner up.
The contest is long, running for about 5 months, but the time you spend weekly really isn't that difficult. If you did a minimum, you could probably spend 10 minutes a week. (Although, many contestants will spend quite a bit more time on character's debates. It's up to each individual.)
