I usually wait until meat goes on sale before I buy it. I can pick up ribeye or porterhouse on sale for 6 to 8 dollars a pound, but I’m not really eating a whole lot of meat these days. It’s partially cost and it’s partially health related reasons. It’s not really that good for you to eat too much red meat. When London broil goes on sale, I usually make beef jerky out of it

At this point... I don't get his appeal and I'm too afraid to ask.

:o

What if I told you that Charlie Day was voicing Luigi, and Jack Black was voicing Bowser? Because that's true. Every Mario movie must be ****ing insane, it's the law.

Will Luigi be asking this at some point?

Story of two ruthless assassins for hire caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse?

Or...

The actual Super Mario Bros.?

The best part is that they're holding Super Scopes from the SNES, just painted black. Like I said, madness at every turn.

I had one as a kid. It was ****.

Don't give Tom Cruise ideas for the next Mission: Impossible.

I watched the first two episodes of Foundation. It was good ****, even if parts of it felt like a calculus lecture. The plot kinda rushes at super speed to set everything up, but once it does things start to click. Also, everything was really pretty: the sets, the designs of the ships and technology, Lee Pace, even the opening credits. Krypton, watch that ****. Give Apple your money. They need it.

I'm just like... There's a bunch of people who can go to each other "Crazy about that mid air plane collision we were all a part of and then sky dived away from, huh?"

I'll see about FOUNDATION.

You see any of the SW Vsions? Gonna start it in a couple of minutes.

I watched all of Visions. There are some bangers in there, as the kids say. The Ninth Jedi is probably the standout. A couple of misses, though. Weed helps, either way. Like sprinkles on a sundae.

You are absolutely right, 25th Hour is a fantastic movie. I'm glad you brought that up... Barry Pepper really stole the show.

Also, Anna Paquin was horrible there.... and everywhere, really.

Just like in Battlefield Earth. John Travolta loves gold, it's what he does.

Actually I kinda think Cults should be a bigger thing in the world of super heroes if you think about it.

If you are a Magneto or Sinestro type you have all the power you need. You are a force unto yourself. You don't really require anyone outside of yourself to act. But even some of the biggest names would require people and infrastructure to be even moderately successful. Hell, even the likes of Doom and Luthor need entire nations and multinational corporations to make them the threats they are at their fullest capacity.

With Doom, ok... He's a tyrant who rules by fear. I get why his people work for him. Luthor? A big corp will always have people willing to do anything for the boss, plus Lex dangles ye' olde money bags in front of a lot of faces so, that gets him whatever else he needs.

But what about all those other schmucks lining up to be the Cult Of Kobra or HYDRA? They all semi-pro "henchmen" lining up to be cannon fodder? The economy that bad in the Marvel and DC universes?

Unless... There's a crap ton of people that are willing to become part of whatever the bad guys got cooking up because... They believe in it. Why? I think exploring that could be done with some stories that dig deeper into this aspect of super hero worlds and it could be great commentary on society. I liked the bit in IDENTITY CRISIS where we learn that Kobra is like the Muslim Brotherhood or the Aryan Nation inside the prison system of the DCU, with some villains converting while serving time.

The grounding of that question, WHY people turn to super villains and work for them and their aims is something I feel was glossed over big time in CA: Winter Soldier. They never told us WHY all these Americans working at SHIELD were so open to the pitch of HYDRA?

That's somehting that should be explored.

Agents of SHIELD had an arc about the cult side of Hydra. It got weird.

But it did bring back Powers Boothe, and it made his character from Avengers a member of Hydra, which was cool. He REALLY wanted to nuke New York. So badly.

But that was Agents of SHIELD, in the long long ago where TV and movies were separate, and never the twain shall meet.

It's funny for all the **** I gave that show... When good looking Agent guy turned Hyrda Chloe Bennet's character read him the riot act about how, y'know... Hydra was the brain child of the Red Skull, who was, kinda a HUGE NAZI *******. Like they didn't pull any cutesy Hydra is a proxy they were like if this dude is following in the footsteps of the Skull then he's following in the footstops of a Nazi, point blank. With him if I'm remembering they went all in on being practically raised to do what he did, they went personal with his trauma and what have you. Which is fine for their story.

I'm just more like... Unless you are part of the bad guy inner circle and are going to enormously personally benefit from the villain scheme in the form of money or power then I think it's reasonable to assume that the other motivating factor is believing in upturning whatever the status quo is that the baddies will shatter with their actions. That means their supporters have essentially given up on the world as it is, which these days... One can see why. There's something meaty waiting to be uncovered there and it gets to the nature of super villains vs super heroes.

But then again, I just think too deeply about this ****.

Marvel Suing to Keep Rights to ‘Avengers’ Characters – The Hollywood Reporter

Blockbuster lawsuits filed today will decide future ownership of characters including Iron Man and Spider-Man.

Marvel Sues to Block Spider-Man, Doctor Strange Copyright Claims - Variety

Marvel filed five lawsuits on Friday seeking to block comic book creators and their heirs from reclaiming copyrights to such major characters as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.

The move comes after heirs of five Marvel authors filed dozens of termination notices with the U.S. Copyright Office. If they were to succeed, the notices would not prevent Marvel from using the disputed characters, which were created by multiple collaborators. They would however require the studio to make payments to the heirs.

I have a feeling Stan Lee would not approve of his family attempting to torpedo the MCU.

That's somehting that should be explored.

Those Americans in SHIELD that were secretly HYDRA were probably raised to that ideology by their parents who were probably influenced by their grandparents. There is 60 years between TFA and TWS and as we've seen in real life a lot of neo nazis have been reared in the last 80 years.

As for why so many people would join or remain with HYDRA, some will be failed soldiers and cops that couldnt cut it in either profession so they turned to alternative armed forces. There are millions in the US with personality disorders, bad upbringings, and criminal records. There are millions of ex convicts that are introduced to gangs and neo nazi groups in prison, and HYDRA would definitely recruit from there. There are a disturbing number of humans that just want to kill or harm and are looking to join whatever group or organization will allow them to do it. And there are a lot of people in gangs and criminal organizations simply because of how and where they grew up.

Is there a reason why Elizabeth Olsen is getting some backlash on the internet? Is it because of the Emmys?

I haven’t seen it but that would be an unsurprisingly dumb reason if so.
