Red Dead Redemption. It is very much Grand Theft Auto in the Wild West, but it's magnificent. The tone is especially satisfying, what with the music and the feel that this place you find yourself in is very much on the verge of extinction due to progress. Aside from the stupid wild animals that come out of nowhere to murder you if you dare to get off your horse in the wilderness and the crappy targeting system that makes it impossible to hit those f***ers, it's been amazingly good so far.
Meh, it still bugs me, although I've learned how to use it better. It turns out actually targeting with LT is stupid. You tap it in an enemy's general vicinity and the auto-aim will handle the rest (if it's in a good mood). I was actually trying to track the animals with LT, like I would if I were playing a shooter on my PC, but the thumbsticks are really quite terrible compared to a mouse, so it was impossible for me to hit the fast-moving animals.Red Dead Redemption
I think the targeting system is very good. I was busting out headshots even before the right "Dead Eye" ability.![]()
The Max Payne games are damned fine, even today. Graphics are obviously dated, but not distractingly so, and the stories are both pretty solid (although I prefer the first game's story).Max Payne 2
