Tsutomu Nihei's Blame Manga Gets Animated in Knights of Sidonia
2nd Knights of Sidonia season to premiere next April with new director

The January issue of Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine is announcing on Tuesday that Tsutomu Nihei's Blame! manga will be animated within Sidonia no Kishi: Dai-kyū Wakusei Seneki (Knights of Sidonia: War of the Ninth Planet), the second Knights of Sidonia anime season. The second Knights of Sidonia season will premiere next April in the Animeism programming block, and the character Tsumugi will "appear at last." Hiroyuki Se****a, the assistant director of the first season, is replacing Kobun Shizuno as the director of the second season at POLYGON PICTURES, and Sadayuki Murai is returning to be in charge of the series scripts.

Paprika...that was pretty interesting. Ending reminded me of Paranoia Agent, but not in a bad way. Some really nice animation in this one, I wish more movies about dreams were done this way.

From its electrifying opening sequence, Satoshi Kon's animated TV series Paranoia Agent (Mousou dairinin, 2004) is clearly about widespread insanity.

Paranoia Agent was a great exercise in displaying how the Japanese people as a whole coped with being the only country to experience getting nuked to put it bluntly.

Like many people who face a traumatic event they tend to latch on to a childhood sense of happiness and Paranoia Agent does a beautiful job of dealing what that and much more.

Togane exploited Akane's affection and memory of Kougami. His absence affected her.

Considering they had 11 episodes (like half of the first season) and are sandwiched in what otherwise would be a "filler" season between Season 1 and the upcoming movie, they did a pretty good job. Some people don't like the concept of the other villain [blackout]Kamui is Frankenstein's monster-eseque[/blackout] but I was willing to roll with it. Mika kind of grew on me as a character too as the obnoxiously anti-Akane.

Really liked Hitsugi no Chaika Avenging Battle, Ookami Shoujo To Kuro Ouji and Sora No Method. Also Trinity Seven and Amagi Brilliant Park. I hope they do another series of each. Looking forward to Grisaia No Kajitsu's next series this March.

Yeah, the Blood series fell apart really, really fast.

Parasyte's really good so far. Silver Spoon Series 1 is magnificent. Sorry I'm playing catch up on this one.
