Can someone explain why this (or L4D 1) is not releasing on PS3?

The head guy from Valve (Gabe something) pretty much flat out said he hated the PS3 hardware and refused to as much as consider development for it.

It is superior to the 360 in every way but from a developers POV it is a pain in the ass...

It's really sad, too, because they won't even get the Orange Box on the PS3 all the updates. Even though they didn't handle the port you would think they would at least keep it up to date.

I've actually read that some of the other Valve members are open to PS3 development (now that the tech has become more familiar), but Gabe (I think that's his name anyway, I hope I'm getting it right) won't go for it apparently

feel ripped off that a new one is gonna be out so soon - then no-one will play the first one online anymore and I will literally be forced to trade up and waste money - great

Counterstrike 1.6, Day Of Defeat and halflife 2: deathmatch are still the most played game on steam, came out 5/10 years ago and Counterstrike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source replaced them, 360 version might be a diffrent story.

Yeah, once L4D2 comes out no one will play the first. The same happened for GOW1, the only games that still have alot of players for the game before & the sequel are Halo & COD.

This year's gonna be a pain for me. MUA2 & Halo: ODST in September then MW2 & this in November.

If he ran slower. NO ONE would want to play as him. I don't think Valve would do that. Though, I know that I'll always be Nick he'll be what Francis is to me in the first one.

He could be slower but stronger or more durable. There's gotta be some plus side to being fat lol.

I was always Louis in the first one, think I might play as the Scarface guy this time.

As much as I hated fighting Tanks, Chargers sound even more frustrating.

Yeah, Uncle Phil could be the tank and pull the zombies. Mechanic and Conman guy could be DPS. And Black Zoey could focus on healing.

I played as Zoey mostly. Luis Second. And then it was an amibivalent toss-up between Bill and Francis. I feel like those two were too blatantly badass.

I like to play as Francis just 'cause he doesn't care about much besides killing some zombies. Mirrors my own personality when I'm playing L4D, unless I'm playing as a zombie, which just means the reverse is true.

Gameplay from this looks sweet. You're gonna have to separate me at the hip from the axe and fire ammo once I start playing.

I liked playing as Francis because I like to hear what he hates, which is everything...except vests.

Nah, all the old guys are still in it. Chargers seem like they're really similar to tanks but faster and more aggressive....as if the latter is even possible.

I cannot wait...although I'm a bit disappointed that its out so soon. I mean i bought LEft 4 Dead like 6 months ago or so, so it won't even be a year when this come sout. Kinda wish it was an expansion, and hope it warrants a purchase worht the price. Time will tell.

I remember reading on IGN that the Chargers were going to be like the tanks, except they werent as agile. Probably can only charge in a straight line, where as the tank can turn around and what not. On the flip side, where you could run backwards and fire at a tank, you probably cant do that with the Chargers, you'd have to strafe/ or just move to the left or right real quick.

I like that Valve is linking the "movies" of L4D2 together more than they did in L4D1. I loved the subtle storytelling they did through the characters' reactions to things, but I always wished we could get a little bit more of a narrative to go along with the characterization.
