Horror Leonardo DiCaprio to play "The Devil In The White City"

It's interesting to think that Leo was in the running to play Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.

He was too young at the time but after Wolf of Wall Street, it gives us a little insight into his Bateman now I think.

Just heard about it on Facebook. Glad they got it funded and it's ready to go. Leo was made to play these types of roles.

Let's be honest, every other character is kind of like furniture compared to Holmes. Everyone else is going to be boring because they were just architects or tradesmen, Holmes is the only intriguing character in terms of development in the book this is likely to be based on.

Yeah, but the script cuts back and forth between Holmes and the other architect or lawyer guy ( I forget which) and he has no arch or any real emotional attachment to him. This was a draft and they probably changed it now anyway. I think that character is going to take a good actor that does so well with lack of material to work with.

I think this is going to be ****ing awesome and I can't wait. It's a fascinating story.

A lot of people seem to have come away more interested in the World's Fair story (I'm one of them) than the Holmes story. I know Leo is kind of the driving force behind getting this movie made but I hope they pay equal attention to both story's.

I can't wait to see the design of his "hotel".

They do.

I'm on board with anything involving Scorsese and especially when the lead actor is DiCaprio. Haven't read the book, though it does sound very interesting.

Scorsese had trouble finding money for Silence all these years tho.

This is fantastic news! Leo playing a serial killer is Hnnnnngh. :drl:

And then ironically after he found funding he dragged his feet on making the movie and was nearly sued for not making it.

Bale and DiCaprio were born in the same year.

The studio actually tried to force the director to take on DiCaprio but she refused.

Then it had to be that baby face and that he didn't mesh with what the filmmakers had in mind whereas Bale did fit that.

This got name dropped in the story I read about Paramount renewing their deal with Scorsese. Curious to see how soon it materializes.

For the longest time Leo looked way younger than his actual age.

Damn. Really wanted this as a movie.

I think it might fit a series better. Both stories can be fleshed out better. It’ll be interesting to see if this is only one season or will they stretch it out to a couple.

I would’ve preferred a movie as well if only to see DiCaprio play the role which won’t happen now.

I can’t wait for all of the architecture porn.

This went from absolute must see movie with Scorsese at the helm to, meh, may or may not check out the first episode.

And I like Keanu.

Not sure why it matters whether it's a film or a series as long as Scorsese is directing. His skills aren't limited to theatrical films.
