The thing i didn't like about the show was the villains. Some of them had believable motivations for their actions, mostly greed, not wanting to spend millions of dollars to safely drill for oil or dispose of their toxic waste. But others had motivations that made absolutely no sense at all. Like Doctor Blight for example, wanting to pollute the planet just for the sake of polluting the planet.

"Yes! I've done it! I've rendered the entire planet unlivable! It can no longer support human life! Now everyone will die! EVEN ME! MWAHAHAHAHA! Ummm . . . Wait a minute."

Isn't it obvious? She's angry about the scar on her face (sexist, I know) and wants everyone to pay for it. She's also a nihilist.

I loved Captain Pollution! Well not love exactly but I loved to hate him!

I would imagine whoever plays Captain Planet would also play captain pollution.

Wouldn't it be great if Captain Planet also got a Netflix animated show like Voltron?

There's no way anything they do with Captain Planet couldn't be better than the show. More people actually invest time in animated TV now. My Lttle Pony got a great reboot of all things, so I know it can be done and my previous comments were harsh towards the film idea, but honesty there's never been an animated show that I liked as a kid that I've hated more upon rewatch than that show.

if they do, it'll be over in a minute or two; like the opening credits. i expect the same thing from Power Rangers.

So basically he's doing what every other writers does when they adapt an 80s show. Basically they can't play straight so it needs to be almost satirical.
