Let's Face It - Will Smith Is Going To Play a Marvel Charactor, So Which One

Most of you are probably right about Will Smith, and his film status, but I still think he would be game for a top billing, big budget marvell film, with a good script, or just have a little fun in a cameo.
Also, he might be a Marvel fan, and do it all for kicks. I know Nicholes Cage is a huge comic book collector (along with cars, boats, vacation homes, ooops, over-extended himself), and that's why he jumped at the chance to do Ghost Rider and Kick-Ass.

Why bump a thread that was dead for over 2 years without anything more to say than bump?
Will Smith being included in the MCU isn't inevitable and let's just hope it's avoidable.

Mmm.... Will Smith's pretty great all around, I'm not sure avoiding him is a worthwhile goal. Not many Marvel characters he lines up for, and not many franchises. Might be great as a villain or supporting cast, which is what Marvel tends to use big name guys for anyway. If they do Black Panther, he could be a really cool Zuri or Moses Magnum. He would pwn as a race-shifted Mar-Vell, imho. I think the best role for him would be Blue Marvel, but I don't see him showing up in the MCU, like, ever.

Will Smith would have to take a big pay cut for Marvel to hire him I would imagine.

Kree Captain Mar-Vell:

I know in the comics Mar-Vell was white, but I don't care about that. I
think as long as Smith takes the part seriously, and I am sure he would, it
would be a great casting. Mar-Vell should be a big deal but shouldn't stay
around too long because Carol needs to become Captain Marvel quickly.
So I say make Smith Mar-Vell, even if its one movie and he dies at the
end giving Carol his powers then that would be fine.
Plus, judging by the way the movies are looking they will probably go with
the Ultimates design of Marvel, the one also used in the cartoon.

Didn't even see this before i posted mine. I agree. I don't think he would be as good a Black Panther as he would Mar-Vell.

Would he be open to playing a villain? I think that him playing Mar-Vell would be too small of a role for him, then again he had a cameo in Anchorman 2.

F that, if Mar Vell isn't played by a Kree I'm boycotting.

Just for fun, a quick photoshop as Smith as Mar-Vell.

As for the part being too small, (I have had many ideas for this movie),
It would be like Terminator with his part being like the Kyle Reese part.
He comes to Earth to either outrun or stop a rogue Kree cell lead by Yon-Rogg. On Earth he partners up with the star of the movie, the Sara Conner part, SWORD agent Carol Danvers. She and Mar-Vell stop the Kree terrorist cell but not before Mar-Vell must sacrafice his own life to stop them. Part of this is giving his powers (and high tech armor) to Carol. She uses them to stop the Kree cell and their secret weapon, a Kree Sentinel, once and for all.
With the Kree being in the GOTG movie, Mar-Vell's role in the Marvel movie universe would be pivotal and make his one movie appearance so important. He would help bridge the gap of the Avengers, Agents of SHIELD, and the GOTG. And lead Carol Danvers into becoming Captain Marvel, Marvel movies female Thor/Captain America type and their first big time female hero on the level of Thor or Hulk.
He could also reprise his role for a flashback when they need to reveal that he had a child with the Skrull princess, and maybe his own son could play Hulkling if his acting becomes better.

I also have idea on the costume:

Also, tangent,an idea I had that may be good or not but what do you guys think of the idea that the Kree have been guiding Earth all these years?
Like helping Erskine create the Super Soldier Serum, maybe getting the Cosmic Cube on Earth in the first place,
sort of setting players up like in Chess to get Earth where they want it to be. (not based on any evidence from the movies or shows.)

No offense to Will Smith but I can't see him in a Marvel movie. He could prove me wrong of course.

Josiah X. Will Smith acting opposite Chris Evans as a radical leftist superhero who challenges Captain America's notions of American exceptionalism and the American dream would be absolutely stellar to watch.

Will Smith doesn't need a MCU movie.

Not to mention Marvel doesn't Will Smith. They both have immense fame and popularity.

So if it were to ever happen, it would have to be a film he absolutely loves and would be willing to take a pay cut. It would have to be an artistic choice situation.

Will Smith, sooner or later, is going to get a Marvel Character role, so which one?

Here's My Top Five List

Power Man/Luke Cage

Bucky Battlestar

Black Panther

Deathlok

Falcon

I see this thread started in 2011...its now 3 years later and he hasn't appeared in a Marvel movie yet. Luke Cage will be on Netflix in a web series and cast soon with no mention of Will. Deathlok is technically on the TV show Shield now so he's out....Falcon is out because he is appearing in the new Capt. America film. I don't see Marvel going for a solo Bucky film......so just leaving the Black Panther for good ol' Will left.....not sure it will happen.
