Batman Begins Liam Neeson is so awesome

I wish he'd grow out a goatee like he had in Batman Begins in real life.

I love his Ra's Al Ghul. I think some of the changes they made actually improved on the comics like making Ra's Al Ghul a vigilante terrorist instead of an ecoterrorist. To me it strengthens Ra's Al Ghul's paternal relationship with Batman, because they care about the same things.

Liam is just born for the mentor type of roles. Im so glad Nolan didnt think casting Liam as mentor would be a lazy and obvious casting because of his Qui Gon Jinn role. I really think what actors played before is irrelevant and shouldnt be in the way if the actor feels right for the role, wheter he played the same characters a million time or none at all

He was. I think that Liam Neeson and Christian Bale did a great job of portraying a surrogate father/son mentor/pupil relationship. They really did a great job with adapting the key aspects of Ra's al Ghul.
Something I find really interesting about Ra's al Ghul in the film that I rarely see commented on is the mystery of the character: Ra's al Ghul is a symbol, an idea, a wraith. Where did he come from? Is he a man or a legacy? We can assume that Ra's al Ghul is a legacy, but I could honestly see him actually being immortal.

Well, I never even had a thought of him being supernatural coming through my mind, but he was very interesting character nonetheless. We know that he also has been through great pain, and we see what his loss did to him and what kind of devotion and obsession against criminals it caused in him

I like that its kind of ambiguous because we are not told of either Lazarus pits or past Ra's al Ghuls. We know just enough to understand why he does what he does without compromising the mystery. I liked the idea that Bruce Wayne was a lost soul that Henri Ducard finds and offers him a path. I like how, in Batman Begins, they are similarly motivated by a commitment to justice, but they have vastly different views and definitions of justice that brings them that brings them into conflict.

I dont think there was any ambiguity there about his immortality. We know Nolan was going for realism and so supernatural was out of question. Then theres the script which describes Bruce as realizing Ra's true scheme, which is passing the Ras name from leader to leader. And then theres Ducard's story of his wife, I dont think supernaturality is hinted there in any way

He is still a great adaptation of the comic book character.

Hes better than the comic countepart for me. I never liked Ras, he was my least favorite villain and I was omitting the BTAS episodes with him, I just never liked him and found him very weak in comparison to other very unique Batman villain like Joker, Scarecrow, Clayface etc. Cause Ras is virtually just a warlock which we have plenty of. But the movie Ras was always a very interesting and intriguing character

Was watching Batman Begins last night... and yeah...

Liam Neeson is awesome!! :hrt::hrt:

Wish Nolan would bring him back and we could see more of Ra's... even for the flashback scene in Rises. He doesn't have to be younger looking due to the pit.

But Nolan would never embrace that.
