Hoping it continues to do good. we NEED a sequel, there's a lot more to explore.

If theres a sequel I hope it follows the book in the way that at least David becomes an NSA Agent

(This bit is not part of Reflex) That way he can ironically end up being Rolands partner & we learn more about the baddies through Davids eyes

Yeah, that would be interesting.

Liked how they kept some aspects of the first book in the film that I remember such as the whole beginning (slightly altered) and the whole party at Millie's plus the difficulty telling her and all that.

Saw it like a comic book adaptation, kinda a loose interpretation, but same universe and characters.

I think you misunderstood:o
Well you're supposed to put this beside it next time:whatever:...:whatever:
I was just a bit confused because some think that Reeves is a good actor, as others think he's overrated.

The reason I love Jumper is because the world they live is our world.

The realistic aspect of David immediately robbing a bank, and not saving everyone around the world is what I truly think someone in his position would do.

(There's a small section in Jumper with David switching channels, and of course, there's a narration of three people dying on a broken part of a house. He doesn't have sympathy.)

I was very disapointed. I hated how he could just jump anywhere and nobody would notice, and if they did nobody would report it or anything. The jumping across the bar, the car being stolen, jumping that bus, and the worst one was the jumping to the hospital.

The acting was terible, especially by that girl. Hayden wasnt too great either but the guy who played Griffin was very good.

I didnt think the story was too bad but alot of it just didnt work.

And what are they going to report?

KID: Officer, this guy teleported in front of me.

OFFICER: And where is he now?

KID: He teleported..

True, I didnt word it too well, but I think you get the point. Nobody really seemed to care that they just saw a person teloport, a good example was the part where griffin teloported the car like 6 times. Im sure many people saw that and not one of them really seemed to care.

Um.

If you saw someone disappear into or appear out of thin air, what would you do?

The typical reaction would be to see it, but entirely disregard it due to impossibility. Sure you might think about it, but you'd most likely keep it to yourself because it's not something you can describe to someone, nevermind report. It's such a small and insignificant occurrence that can be chalked up to seeing something wrong.

Except for that poor kid at the airport who will probably be scarred for life. :o

Whats the budget of the movie ?

The movie was rumoured to have a 100 million dollar budget for over a year now. Most websites have it set at 85 million. My guess is Fox spent 15 to 20 million dollars on advertising. Right now the movie is making money at a pace to make around around 70-75 million. If the movie has a financial dropoff of 60% or greater next weekend the movie could make less than this. Cloverfield started off much better than this film considering it had a 2 day weekend and it's box office run ended around 80 million domestically. Bad reviews could kill this film next weekend if they haven't already.

I seriously doubt there will be a sequel unless the foreign gross puts the worldwide gross at 2.5 times the film's budget or unless Fox dramatically decreases the sequels budget.

There is also DVD sales to be considered & if anything all of the World Wide stuff in total should save this movie in the end. It is still to early to call it quits on the Box Office now though

Agreed but, I'm merely stating facts and plausible theories for why people shouldn't get too excited for the possibility of sequels being made for this film. History has shown that films with sequel potential that have worldwide grosses less than 2.5 times their budgets usually don't get sequels. Of course the X-files 2 is an example that breaks this rule, yet it took Fox 11 years to make the movie and it's summer release time is suicide.

Saw it again and holds up second viewing.

Also, jw, which character do you relate to the most or see yourself as? David or Griffin?

I'd probably be Griffin. Just a lone wolf against the Paladins.

I know what your saying, id probably be shocked myself and forget it. But the thing is it wasnt a person who just randomely disapeared in one scene, it was an entire car. I definatley get what your saying, but I still think its kinda weird nobody did anything but thought about it for a second, especially when he pops out of thin air and lands in a hospital causing a big crack in the ground.

That poor kid, although that was kinda funny

*Slight spoilers*

Can anyone explain what happened when he moves the apartment? Right when that happened, and I mean at that very second that it happened, the sound stopped and the screen got fuzzy for a bit.

I want to see the past of the Jumpers explored more they said something along the lines of the Jumpers being around since Miedeval times or something, can you imagine to Jumpers duking it out in chainmail with swords swing and jumping the whole time? That would be awesome if filmed right.

I actually thought the childhood part of the movie was more interesting.

I'm praying that they keep the best scene in the film and include it on the DVD.

I still can't understand why Liman left out introducing another Jumper - Silhouette.

Just thought about this more and highly doubt it. Roland killed his father and almost killed Melanie. So unless it's a forced punishment, I don't see them joining any time soon.

movie was meh...i could see it working as a brilliant tv show or a cartoon show on WB

LoL, my local newspaper said Hayden is giving Jessica Alba a run for her money as the most wooden twenty-something actor in all of Hollywood.

We were never told if Davids father was dead or just knocked out

Yeah. Good point- but still, what Griffin said about the Paladins, doesn't seem that far out of the bounds of what they typically do.

If David were to become an NSA Agent in a sequel then knowing "Movie Land" his partner would be either Roland (regardless of what he has done) or the next best candidate dun dun dun his mom so that they can bond
