I liked how they used Marvel Team Up in the movie. It was funny.

I thought the movie did better than I expected.

I'd also like to see a evil jumper.

That's what I am hoping for . Samuel L Jackson's character said Jumpers all go bad. I thought the best part of the movie was the jumper vs jumper fight . I would liek to see a badass jumper villian in the next.

As stated before I would only post this when I knew people possibly couldn't shoot it since I wasn't able to gather a team, but here's the script I was hoping to shoot:

EXT. NEW YORK CITY- TIMES SQUARE- AFTERNOON

DAVID RICE, 15 years old, walks by on the New York City streets. He stops to look up at the iconic television set of Times Square…

DAVID (V.O.)
It wasn’t always like this.

He looks to the side and sees a record store.

DAVID (V.O.)
But, when you’re trying to survive. It’s the only choice you have.

David pulls his hood over his head and enters the record store.

INT. RECORD STORE- AFTERNOON

He browses through the records as he glances around, taking in everything around him. Making sure no one notices him.

DAVID (V.O.)
It’s you against the world.

David grabs a stack of records and hides them inside his jacket.

An EMPLOYEE spots him!

EMPLOYEE
Hey! Stop!

The employee runs towards David. David looks towards the employee scared. He closes his eyes, bracing himself as- he disappears! The employee stops in his tracks and looks around. Confused.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY- ALLEYWAY- AFTERNOON

David appears in an alleyway.

DAVID (V.O.)
Making a living any way you can.

David looks at the records with regret as he pulls his hood off and walks out of the alleyway into…

EXT. NEW YORK CITY- CHINA TOWN- AFTERNOON

David looks around seeing merchants on street corners selling illegal goods. He leans against the wall of the alleyway as he watches people pass by. He notices a teenage GUY in the crowd and approaches him.

DAVID
Hey, man, want to buy a CD?

The guy looks at David, unsure. David nods his head motioning that he’s legit.

FADE TO:
EXT. STATUE OF LIBERTY- AFTERNOON

Close-Up on David as he looks around, free…

DAVID (V.O.)
The land of the brave and home of the free…

Slowly dolly out to reveal that we are at the Statue of Liberty!

DAVID (V.O.)
God, I love this country.

[FADE TO BLACK]

Good movie i enjoyed it. Hayden left way to many clues around...IOU'S i dont think so. Jumping in plain sight was dumb too

I thought it was interesting how no one really seemed to notice jumping in plain sight that often. Do people really walk around oblivious so often? Do people really explain away things like that (oh, I must not have seen him...)?

It was a curious thought, just barely believable enough to work.

The Jumper Film Contest is on the Jumper site, basiscally shoot a short film (7 minutes or less) based on the online Jumper comic, set in the Jumper Universe, and the first prize is a hot new Mac laptop and a meeting with Doug Liman (schedule permitting).

I had a script as well, but with no time or equipment to shoot with. It's a bit too long to post here, as well.

Hayden is not an actor. That kid who plays his teenage self had more charisma than him. I winced everytime I heard his voiceover. Once he was on screen, it went down hill from there.

The reason I love Jumper is because the world they live is our world.

The realistic aspect of David immediately robbing a bank, and not saving everyone around the world is what I truly think someone in his position would do.

(There's a small section in Jumper with David switching channels, and of course, there's a narration of three people dying on a broken part of a house. He doesn't have sympathy.)

What are you, a studio plant? That was one of the worst parts. No subtley whatsoever.

"Oh no!! Those people are STRANDED.... ON THE BUS....... if only.... SOMEONE COULD REACH THEM!!!"

Groan. :whatever:

I wasn't saying that bit was mesmerizing, but it was ironic.

Although, I thought Jumper was a real disappointment, I can't disagree with Gotham, because the reason why the protagonist is so intersting is that he is not another good superguy like Spidey or Superman. Yeah, he doesn't care about others and he's indeed very selfish, but this doesn't mean people can't love him, because about 80% of us would do the same using powers for our needs and wants only.

I dont see how David was shelfish when about 95 % or more of the human race would pretty much do what David did & not care & just go about his day. People say David was shelfish sure but put yourself in your position with that power I doubt most would care when the moment of truth would come. If anything it would have just been cheesy if David started saving people left & right throughout the movie because as I said most people with that power would not bother

Ummm, you've just re-typed what I posted

He is selfish, not because everybody would do the same, but because he doesn't care about moral principles (especially, if we don't forget how hard his childhood life was).

All right I changed it to quote goblin & honestly if anyone really thinks the first thing a person would do is start saving random people with a power like that then they are living in a dream world. David was not raised to do good like Peter Parker or Clark Kent. David is realistic with what he did with that power

hell, I would do the same thing David did if I had that power. If someone thinks that s/he would be some superhero with that power then s/he is deluding themself.

Exactly & that to me that helped make David alot more likeable because they did not try to make him a Peter Parker clone

However much I loved the Marvel Team-up reference, it was a bit out there.

I mean, we are supposed to believe he wouldn't save the world with his ability, but him being weened on a comic or two would say otherwise.

Just something that bugged me a a bit, not a lot.

Think of it this way. In the beginning of the movie for all he knew he was the only Jumper & he wanted to live life just like he would but with a cool power like any one of us would. Then he finds out that there are other Jumpers out there & an evil organization out there willing to kill innocent people just because they unknowingly know a Jumper & add in the fact that there more Jumpers I would think it wouldn't be until then would David start thinking like that. In fact it would be kind of funny if there is a sequel & David convinces Griffin to help find other Jumpers & start up a team & take this one step further. Who knows maybe in the sequel unless David becomes an NSA Agent he might want to start a group which I can see him doing to prove to Roland that he is different. The sequel could definitely have fun with David wanting to get a team of Jumpers together & then in the third movie they can end up facing off with evil Jumpers & Davids Jumper group teams up with Roland & gang to take them out.

I think David would be reluctant to start a team. He only wants to live with his girlfriend at peace. The only way I see him joining a team would be if he has to save Bilson's character or maybe he has to save his mom. Otherwise, David doesn't seem like the type to help people that wouldn't benefit him.

That's exactly what I mean, the fact that David, instead of other superdudes, uses his powers only for what he needs or wants is what makes him some kind of unique for a modern superhero.
