I thought he was cool as Robin. The only knock I had at the time was he was just too old. When he said he wanted to be called Nightwing I was like....ok that's cool.

Yeah they went the right route with him costume wise. His circus outfit was the Robin classic but they gave him the armored look for when he suited up.

I always found it interesting how his suit in Batman & Robin was essentially a Nightwing suit, but with red and they went the whole route of him wanting to go solo. I thought if there was a sequel, they'd have him lose the cape and make his bird blue. Then, now they have him wearing red in the New 52.

I like the blue more too. But, I guess they went the route that all the Robins keep red as part of their suit no matter what. Though, they say Tim was never simply Robin but went straight to Red Robin, right?

I just looked it up. I was right. What I didn't know is that his name isn't even really Tim Drake now...

In the New 52, Tim is a talented athlete and computer genius who comes close to discovering the Batman's identity but never totally figures it out. When Tim finds the Batman and gets rejected for the role of sidekick, he decides to bring the Batman to him, by hacking the Penguin's bank account and donating millions of dollars. The Penguin's goons come after Tim and his family, but the Batman saves them. Tim's parents go into witness protection, but they believe Tim deserves better and ask Bruce to take care of him for them. Bruce adopts Tim, the Witness Protection Program renames him 'Tim Drake,' and he takes on the identity of 'Red Robin', rather than the identity of "Robin", out of respect to Jason Todd, but this contradicts several established issues where he is mentioned as having been Robin.
