It's almost Halloween time, so I thought I'd share a cool craft idea with you guys, and my results from last year.

I used a craft pumpkin from Michael's, a regular pumpkin carving kit with those terrible little saw things, and sand paper to smooth the edges down. It's not perfect, but I love how it turned out and its something that I can re-use every year since its not a real pumpkin. It took about an hour and all of the supplies were under $10. You just have to pencil on a rough outline and can sand it down as you go. The "candle" is one of those fake tealight candles from Hobby Lobby (I think). Those battery powered strobe lights work too, but it looked better with a more natural yellow glow. Just thought I'd share.

I'm definitely gonna look into doing this for this year, thanks so much! And your final result looks like it will have a very happy Halloween.

Your pumpkin looks GREAT, batmanofbaylor! Thanks for the idea. I might try that out this year!

Very cool mate, glad to see you used one of those reusable fake punkins as well. :D :p ;)

Here's one I made (two years) earlier!

This year, I hope to get it done a little better. Perhaps some neater lines around the eyes.
