Days of Future Past "Look upon the future and tremble!": The Official Apocalypse Thread

Fox could have been lying about films with both OT and FC casts post DOFP.Of course maybe they consider using Hugh Jackman again with FC cast using both casts:yay:

Does anyone really think Is they are trying to sell event film with both casts for them to say well after DOFP we plan on only using FC cast In next X-Men film:doh:

Apocalypse will probally be used in X_force and future X-Men sequels post X-Men:APocalypse.

Or you know they might actually mean having plans for both casts...

Let's get down to serious business. WILL Apocalypse have a giant "A" on his suit?

I don't think I can see this movie if he doesn't.

Not if X-Men:APocalypse only uses FC cast.

I hope this is a stupid rumor. It's time to go back with the original cast.So many people love the original cast,A big disappointment if they aren't in this movie.:csad:

I want Famke,Rebecca,Halle,James,Anna,Ellen,Ian,Patrick,Alan,Ben,Shawn,Daniel,together for the last time.:csad:

:hrt:2016 would be the perfect and logical date for the OT.

I have a feeling they want to make FC feel like a trilogy and then return to the OT era. In between will be X-Force and Wolverine to keep us in the present.

totally agree on that. Makes perfect sense.

This way FC gets its own trilogy, with the young versions getting a great development, and then Fox will go back to present time to give us the ULTIMATE X-MEn movie, with ALL the iconic characters, including some from X-Force, like the ultimate crossover.

Thats the smartest thing they could do to close the saga. At least the main series.

I doubt they do that.Logic says that the next film would be with the original cast.No sense making them wait 6 more years.
Everyone will have more than 50 & 40 years.

And Fox is not going to do that,2016 would be the time.

Maybe Singer can shoot X men Apocalypse Part 1 and 2 back to back :cwink: .

Maybe someone else will direct an OT era movie like Matthew Vaughn. At the same time roughly

Returning to the OT cast after 2016?! I highly doubt that's going to happen, plus it would be completely illogical from a franchise stand point.

How does that build the X-Men universe bouncing between two different timelines. It would make absolutely no sense, not to mention the unpredictability with getting the OT cast back.

Do you really think 3-5 years down the line (even more depending on when they would release the next X-Men movie) they are going to be standing around wanting to play these characters again?

With Hugh jackman's recent comments if X-Men:APocalypse doesn't feature the OT cast they are likely done.

Jackman isn't the be all and end all

The OT will be a fine age in 6 years, don't be age-ist people

I think he and the cast could be done even if they are in X-Men: Apocalypse. This isn't his first time saying he's getting close to retiring the character. The guy has been in six X-movies now, the original cast will now be in four all together.

There's only so many times these people are going to want to come back and play the same characters over and over again.

I highly doubt they are going to be leading a new trilogy starting with X-Men: Apocalypse. That could be anywhere from 5-6 years they'd have to commit on top of four previous movie's they've already done.

I don't think they will do several films with the OT but I do think 1 will if not may happen, I doubt fox cares about age and it won't be a big deal to them

They certainly care about age, or are at least taking it into consideration, if they truly are trying to relaunch the franchise to compete against Marvel in the long run.

Doing another movie with a relatively older cast does the opposite of that.

The Avengers cast isn't that young either. Maybe the reason for doing more FC is to have a solid Xavier/Magneto because Stewart and McKellan are getting up there. But the rest of the cast doesn't need to be restarted. You could have guest appearances in X-Force and The Wolverine 2 until another big crossover film happens. Some of these actors didn't have to come back for DOFP. I just don't see this being some kind of finale, it doesn't make any sense.

Avengers trilogy will end on 2018, so its not like Fox needs to do more x-men main movies until 2023 or something.

Another huge X-Men movie on 2017 or 2018 is a great moment to close main series.

None of us expected or expect four more movies, you know? they have Wolverine 3 and XForce too in the cards, so the franchise will end with plenty of movies for all type of fans.

So no real problem with just one more movie for OT.

I don't think they'll do either one of those two movies.

News Bleeding Cool:

What do we know about the third installment of Fox’s new X-Men trilogy at this point? Well, quite a lot, actually, but one question remained: Will Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer return to direct? Now, Vulture purports to have the answer, and it’s yes.
Vulture also goes on to report that they believe the film will focus solely on the Michael Fassbender-James McAvoy led younger cast introduced in X-Men: First Class, rather than the mix of First Class and original X-Men trilogy alums that will be featured in Days of Future Past.
Then again, they also reiterate our earlier reporting that the film will be a direct sequel “set up in Days of Future Past’s closing moments,” which does not preclude some of the original X-Men cast from showing up, at least in the very beginning, to wrap things up. Brendon is pretty confident Singer and Fox are definitely trying to lock in as many cast members from both timelines as possible, though the amount of their screentime is not known.
